I would like to suggest that after this year's OOTP 19, next year we have OOTP XX, and then, after that, OOTP 2020.

There should be a "Stadium" field in the schedule file, with each stadium having an id number, so the schedule file would read something like:

<GAME day="1" time="1305" away="11" home="3" location="3" />

Where the "location" field was the id number of the stadium (for simplicity I've assumed the stadium ids would match the team id, but that isn't forced to be the case).

We could have accurate rosters after the draft instead of September when the seasons over.
I have added it to my to-do list

Markus,

Any chance in the future that we be able to create our own databases like in the past? Maybe as a separate feature. Having to start a database in OOTP15 and importing just to have our own database is getting old. Can we refresh this?

Anyone else feel like this version is light on new features & improvements for simmers? I'm in favor of the added 3D to the game for those that like that stuff because it helps grow the game.

Just not seeing anything that gets me excited. I will buy the game because I want the franchise to succeed and I've been here since OOTP2.

I play out a lot of my games, so I wish the PBP and News would be improved more... realize I might be in the minority, but still wish there was some effort to improve those two areas.

And like you, I will always buy the new versions to support Markus and OOTPB despite the fact that PBP and News are not a very high priority.

The least they could do is increase the number of variations in the PBP and News, so they would not be so repetitious.
I would willingly write new items, if OOTPB is short on writers and editors.

If you would like to get back on the beta team and help out here, send me a PM and it could be arranged

Will we see a reduced amount of trainer comes to check on player only to see that they can continue to play. I see it often in challenge mode.

I would love smarter pitcher usage...too often manager lets pitcher hits in ridiculous situations or leaves starter in forever. playoff pitcher usage is pretty terrible also in that rarely do you see starters on short rest, too often see mediocre relievers coming in close games, etc

I would like too see when I have a team use a 6-man starting rotation(without taking control of the team settings) that it doesn't revert back to a 5-man rotation after I make some transactions.

Rivalries

I've been playing OOTP for a few years now (debuted with the 2013 edition i believe). One thing that i would love in this game is to have rivalries between teams like Red Sox vs Yankees or the Lone Star series, but also being able to add rivalries into your custom leagues.

As a Commish, is there an option where we can select the Playoff/World Series MVP rather than having it be auto-awarded? Same for the All-Star Game too.

That would help with people who don't want the losing team to get an MVP or at least very sparingly while allowing others to maybe choose somebody who had lesser stats but was more "clutch" etc. Gives the user a bit more power and better immersion.

Since we are on the topic of play-by-play. I posted this in another topic but it seems appropriate here:

One thing I will say about OOTP Play-by-play - it's really good, but I wish they would incorporate more of a dynamic PBP system, similar to what Strat-o-matic Computer baseball does with with it's play-by-play.

It adapts to the team and season and it actually uses the team's real life announcers. It gives the scores, updates the pennant races, sprinkles in anecdotes. It just has a little more character than OOTP play-by-play

I would urge you guys to try Strat-o just see how it works. It’s really good. It's basically the ONLY thing that SOM Computer Baseball has over OOTP.

In past years OOTPB players have stated that SOM PBP is really, really well done and suggested that OOTPB incorporate its PBP style.

They used to post examples of SOM PBP... and it really was done well.

Hopefully, one day Markus will improve on the PBP in the game.

Thank you for the offer.

I will give this serious thought and let you know.

I really want to help improve the News and PBP, but I know the Beta Team really put in long, long, tedious hours.

I want to make sure I can wholeheartedly go into it again.

Done right, it's a lot of hard work.

not even sure how it would effect things day-to-day but I love this idea. it should get a mention in the newspaper and maybe extra boost to morale if you win. I also think your personal news feed should be a little broader: updates on players, fan reactions, local media, etc. A little more world-building instead of just "tallest players" and trivia

will there be any improvement to how stats are displayed in-game when it comes to associations? visiting team will often have no stats because it recognizes the game as a league game for the home team, so it shows only stats accrued in those leagues. this really sucks for World Series associations, I have a league where two league winners play in an association for the World Series and it just looks bad to see zeroes across board for visiting team and season stats for home team

Will the Reserve Roster still only be a minimum of 15 players? I want a fictional league setup with no reserve roster or minors and if a player gets injured a team will sign a FA or buy a player from a lower league. Once the player comes back from the injury the team would then have to cut a player to stay at the roster limit.
