In the OTTP can vote for like 20 so the Voters should be able to. Also no Front Office/Personal getting in but still could. Andy Pettite,David Ortiz,Bobby Abreu and so on will get in the future because haven't been mentioned tonight on MLB Network and do in OTTP.

My vote of 10, saw 3 get in (not Hoffman)
Missing are Edgar Walker Mussina Schilling Bonds Clemens Rolen Mussina and Schilling are obvious omissions. Edgar is likely going in next year, with Mussina and Rivera (maybe Halladay) I can't tell if Rolen's support will pick up Bonds and Clemens, we all know all about. Walker has the home/road splits, can't tell if he eventually gets in or not. |

Good to see a large number make it - the logjam is getting ridiculous.
Edgar, Mussina, Bonds, Clemens, Kent, Walker Should have all been in by now in my opinion. I guess one way to clear a clog of deserving candidates is to just wait for them to become ineligible. :-(

It was nice to see Vlad get in the hall. Him, Walker, Martinez....all should have stayed Expos for life, but hard to do when the deck's stacked against you.

It’s funny at this point that anyone thinks PED users are being kept out. If we’re all being honest, there’s a good chance some just got in during the last couple years. And I’d be willing to bet there are guys who got in years ago from the late 80s to early 90s that used too. Canseco said there were users already in during the mid 2000s. The guy is a train wreck in a lot of ways, but he’s been 100% right on any steroid accusation. I believe him!

It would never happen, but how cool would it be if some player that really didn't give a hoot, stood at the podium during his induction speech and said, I used steroids from 1995-2002, but I'm in, so what y'all going to do about it?

They could do what the NHL did with Alan Eagleson and kick him out if there's enough blowback.

For me I look more at if they are one of the greatest at their respected position. Kent, in my eyes, is one of the best at second base and there are not a lot of great second baseman.
On the other end, I look at Vlad and thing he had an amazing career but the competition for left field is a lot bigger. I am a small hall guy and you really have to be among the best every at your position. With that said, if Vlad getting in keeps bonds/clemens/sheffield/manny out then i'm all for it. |

You could be right and if we find out that someone did do PED's then I say kick them out of the hall.

Did anyone watch the MLB Network last night? They seemed to be going out of their way to speak about what great people the new inductees are particularly Thome & Glad.
I took it as their way of addressing the unspoken conversation regarding Bonds and Clemens

The idea that any of us really know who is a good man or not is crazy. A guy might seem nice, treats reporters well, and signs for fans, but you have no idea if that guy beats his wife or does any number of reprehensible acts. In 1993, we all would have said that OJ Simpson was a quality human being. We all would have been wrong, we just didn't know it. Keep this stuff strictly baseball related. Was the guy a great player or not? this "i think he's a good human being, therefore he gets a nod" is just insane. Also, it's a moot point. Cap Anson is a hall of famer. There are schools of thought that say that Tris Speaker and Rogers Hornsby had connections with the Klan. Enough pretending like we really know these guys. We don't. Keep it to what happened on the field. (this isn't some sort of pro PED guy rant either, i'm speaking in general terms) |

Dude relax, we're talking about baseball. Forgive me for being dramatic, have a cigarette and try not to take everything so seriously

Talk about baseball all you want. Just don't insult people while you're doing it. I love debate. But when you add insults, it turns to arguing.
