Want to set up a new minors system. Can you guys give me your thoughts?
Hey guys! So i'm thinking about starting a new minors organization for MLB clubs and kind of changing the way the MLB universe works in OOTP, here's my plan.
So I'm taking year 2017 and keeping AAA and AA for all 30 teams, I want to start a new 'A' league system for each of the 30 MLB ball clubs where each MLB team effectively has its own 'league' at the A level consisting of players in their organization. So for example: Boston has its AAA and AA ballclubs, and there's an independent league titled "The Boston City League" consisting of 6-8 teams based in neighborhoods in and around Boston. I would set the league as an A level league and have each team be set to be affiliates of the Red Sox. So basically of the Red Sox prospects below AA ball would be on these A league teams playing against each other. Then I would set up a 'city/neighborhood A league' for each of the remaining MLB teams. Also, note here that I would start without all of the leagues below AA ball, they wouldn't exist anymore. What do you guys think? Thoughts on how you think it might work? What I could do to make it better/work better? Thanks! |

Just to expand a bit, maybe if there was an option to have a Summer and Winter season, where maybe teams could play against each other in your version in the summer, and then in the winter take a team or two as organization representatives, and have them play against each other, like a more fleshed out version of the Arizona Fall League? This would be possible, wouldn't it? |

The whole idea is put emphasis on bringing baseball back to its roots as the game that was played in all the different neighborhoods around the city. I'm even going as far and taking the ballpark dimension excel spreadsheet (the one that allows to you to put in field dimensions to change the ballpark factors) and using real life neighborhood fields that I find on google maps, that way each field is different with some having crazy dimensions. Its a reach, and kind of crazy idea but I'm hoping it turns out great |

Cool idea
Some ideas for either Chicago team can be found within many of my IBL teams. These all play in the suburbs and far away cities but i have ideas for City neighborhoods as well.

that sounds really cool, but with 30 additional leagues I'd expect a lot of slowdown

Basically why I'd stay away from this.

Interesting idea.
To solve the “too many leagues” issue, you might consider creating sub-leagues within one league, one sub-league for each city, then don’t allow interleague play under options. I think that might do what you want without adding too much work for the AI each day versus a full modern day setup. Just a thought. |

How about trades within the city leagues? If you were carefully planning each team, that option can be turned off. If it doesn't matter since they all feed the same organization, let 'em have at it.
