How to stop my owner from extending contacts.

This has only happened once in my 2 1/2 seasons of my custom league but my owner went ahead and extended one of the players on my team to a 3 year 23 million dollar contact. Something I wouldn't have done, or at least I would have tried to get the player for cheaper. Is there a way to stop my owner from making these moves? I've got my own vision of how to form the team and I don't need the AI coming in and ruining it haha.

Quit team?
Turn off Owners (I hate this idea, but it's an idea)?

What are the traits of your current Owner? Meddling is kind of a flag.
But challenging.

No need to quit or turn off owners. Make sure you have control. If the owner is signing contracts you obviously don't, unless this is some module I don't play.

If you have a meddling owner, sometimes you just have to put up with what they want.

Can a meddling owner in fact override me as GM and sign a player? I’m talking about 400 seasons over many versions. Never seen it.

I don't believe they will sign free agents, but they can re-sign your players to an extension. It's very rare, though.

I've only seen it the one time. I was just annoying because he extended the guy for so much money.

You may need to be in Commissioner mode to do this, but if you go into the Edit Finances screen, you can drop Owner Involvement down to 1. Instant hands-off owner.

I do use commissioner mode and I thought about doing that actually but I wasn't sure if that was the correct setting to change. I should try it I suppose. I don't want my owner extending another player
