Free agents not signing
Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Messing around on my solo sim and I simmed through the offseason without any of the best FA signing to teams. It's been like a 100 year sim and it's never happened before. I messed with financials and re-ran the sim a few times and nothing is working. Any ideas?

Seems like the problem must be buried in the financials somewhere. Are you sure all team budgets were recalculated after league wide financial changes you made?
Also, sometimes it seems whenever financial changes are made recalculation of existing player contracts might be helpful. But that would be a matter of preference. Did you accidentally change a setting you didn't mean to? Something like number of players on roster or international limits or something? |

When I hit a problem like that, I go through every league setting screen and every setting within those screens, one by one, in order. Hoping to catch something I've missed by jumping around from setting to setting haphazardly.

Alright, upon further review, it looks like teams don't have any money set aside in "Money left for FA". Is there some financial setting to switch for this? It looks like some teams have more money left for extensions instead of FA.

Yeah, I see something like that in my fictional league. There are usually bargains available after the first big wave of free-agent signings because teams have spent to their budget. In the current season, the eighth of the league, three primo free agents weren't signed at the start of the season, and two of them went unsigned through the mid-point of the season. One of them is essentially the Babe Ruth of this league, a guy who hit 300 home runs in the first seven seasons and is far and away the best hitter in the game.
The issue is definitely with team budgets. |

In the ManagerSettings you can check the "play as commissioner" box.
Then in each team's Front Office screen, click the "Edit Finances" button. Then raise the budgets so that teams can sign the free agents. |
