Is it possible to draft from all historical players?
I want to setup a league, either AI and me or all human, where I can draft from all player's of all historical teams and haven't seen where this is possible. For example, after the draft, I might have Seaver, Ruth, Killerbrew, Wagner, etc. and one if my 9 or so opponents would have Ryan, Fox, Kiner, Gehrig, Cespedes, Vench, etc. I am aware I can play the all-time Mets vs. Yankees for example, but I want to draft from any team. I also understand I won't have my choice of a specific player year, but that's okay.
Any advice, comments or help is greatly appreciated. Bill |

From the OOTP Start Screen Choose Historical League. The 3rd option down is use Random debut. i use the Spritze dB for RD leagues so i get Negro Leaguers and *** players (among other) coming in earlier. Here is a RD dynasty thread that I currently have given up on. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=277328 I like importing players using career fielding and career stamina. This way eck is a CL from day 1 and players like Dunston can play SS & RF and Wee Willie Keeler plays basically every position. In one league I use stadiums from teh past like Old Comiskey, Riverfront, Joe Robbie etc. Inaugural Draft will have players of all ages, next years Amateur draft will be 18-22 for all players.

...all players?
Thanks for your reply. Doe RD truly offer all players? Seems like some big names are missing.

It will create a draft pool big enough for 40 rds for initial draft and then enough players for as many rds as you want for the rookie draft. All players will appear at some point. You could create more teams and have all players throughout history come in at one time but it will take some playing around with to get the right # of teams. I have my rookie draft rds set at 5 rds, so thats approx 200 players in each rookie draft. I think someone said it would take a person appriox 80 seasons to get every player who ever played.

Random debut doesn't give you access to all players right from the start. You only get a random selection. If you wanted to get all players, I'd imagine that you'd have to edit the database down to just the top players and then use that edited database when you set up your league. What do you intend for future years, AI generated players?
If there's another way to do this, I'm not aware of it.

On the import screen under Options you can import using real or neutralized stats. remaining years of career, remaining peak seasons, career totals and i think one more along with fielding stats for imported season or entire career. Same with stamina. i prefer career fielding in RD so i dont have 4 SS and no 3B. A player like Wee Willie Keeler, Can Anson, Frank Chance and Brent lillibridge are great to have because they play 4+ positions usually.
