A couple of requests to improve quality of life in trading
1) On the results of the shop screen, please allow for a table that can be exported to HTML like most other screens in the game. Early in most offseasons, I'm doing a lot of shopping of players on my 40-man who are out of options, or who I'd like to trade for some other reason (personality, player doesn't suit my style, etc.). At this time of year I will typically receive 130 players offered in return. I have many python scripts that read-in HTML dumps of 'views' to evaluate players. For the 'shop' screen, I'm left with manually typing all of the player names into a file to filter through a full HTML dump of every player in the league. Shopping 5-6 players in the offseason takes me a couple hours of just typing in all of the names each time, not to mention then finding the trade I want. It's just strange to have a screen where you can't set up a view and dump to HTML.
2) Stop sending me messages about 'would you like to trade for <x>? It looks like he satisfies a need you mentioned." Almost universally, the team who sends this message is not even remotely willing to discuss trading said player. If you click on discuss trade, and click 'make this work now', most of the time not a single player comes up. These messages are worthless. I keep a set of generic needs set up so that the AI offers me actual trades throughout the year, but these messages are an unwanted side effect. 3) Please add a summary to trade e-mails that shows something like the information available on the trade log. It is nearly impossible at a glance to evaluate the text in an e-mail about a trade somewhere in the league. If 2 teams trade 3 players each you just get a massive word dump that's more annoying than valuable. It would help for immersion to do something like the trade log screen in the message that you receive. That way you can at a glance decide which team your scouts say 'won' the trade, which team is dumping salary, etc. It would greatly help in 'at a glance' evaluation of each trade. It's possible that simply a link in the e-mail directly to the trade log with "+more info" expanded would be enough, similar to what happens when you click on the trade in a player profile screen. Please view these as constructive criticism and a desire to improve quality-of-life in one of the deepest aspects OOTP. Last edited by drhay53; 11-22-2017 at 12:32 PM. |

I no longer bother with "trade needs" for the reason you mentioned. Also, during the off season, it's very annoying when you reject a team's trade offer and a few days later the same offer is made, sometimes two or three times more.

These suggestions might fall through the cracks if not mentioned in the Suggestions for Future Versions forum category.
