Spring Training
I've noticed that the thumbnail pics for my spring training calls-ups don't generate, even though the facegen has been generated on the player pages of every new call-up.
I wouldn't mind having a couple of blank pics, except that during a game, the screen flickers as if it's trying to refresh the face data but isn't finding it, and it does it for every single pitch! Please can someone advise which of the umpty-bajillion settings related to facegen actually get the player thumbnail pics to update, as it's driving me to distraction every single time I play someone that's not on the 40 man roster - my game currently needs a "WARNING - Strobe lighting" if I try to play it like this!

You may only have face gen enabled for Major League players. Under game settings & face gen make sure it's enabled for all.

Awesome thanks for your help.
![]() Moving onto the next problem though - do line-ups work in some really weird way for spring training or something? I set my starters for every position and then had all of the other players set to start every 3rd / 4th / 5th /etc game, so that I would then get a mix of starters suggested for each game through spring training, even if I then decided to change the line-up for the game (Previously I've ignored the line-ups for spring training and chosen my team entirely based on spring training stats, but I thought that this would be quicker). Instead, my starters just don't start ...... I have a Left Fielder that's set to start, with his first backup only playing every 7 games, but for game 2 of spring training, his backup started, and moving to game number 3, his backup is due to start again, and it's the same for most positions - the starters started game 1 and then never again? I'm manually changing everyone in the line-up for game 3 but it feels like I'm definitely missing something!

If you are playing as GM only then the manager is likely overriding your line ups. That is by design. But the AI does make a LOT of substitutions in spring training. The idea is, like in real life, to get ABs & IPs for as many players as possible.

Yeah, ST has different rules as far as player use.
SP go 4ip. batters are replaced often etc. you can change the dimming of the lights for messages too. that's in the main app setting... settings from splash screen after loading or if you have loaded a league you can get there from File->settings (game settings? similar verbage under "File" in menu or whichever is furthest Left on screen.) as gm only, it is possible the manager is doing the lineups. if you want control of such things even with a "picky" manager, check the box for GM-legacy mode under Global Settings after loading a league. either way, check the delegation in your GM Office - control settings or ??? only 3 or 4 tabs there to look through if not exact wording. i always setup the days off for the backups in ST so that starters don't get over worked - 1/3 - 1/4days. i've never looked to see if it adds up properly, lol. i do use gm-legacy mode. i'll look next time i go through that... if i don't reply assume it does work as intended with these settings... if i see it not working i'll post back here unless someone else has enlightened us.
