Editing Players
I am trying to setup a league with only 15 man rosters where all players have pitching ability.
Any idea how to edit all the players to give them some type of ability good or bad? |

So, as commissioner (required), you would open up the player's profile and tinker with these numbers here on the right. What should they be? Well, perhaps take a look at some real pitchers to see what their ratings are, or keep an eye on the "Resulting Rating/Stats" to monitor the effects of changes. Note that the ratings are on a 1-250 scale. Compare the second and last screen prints to see how I gave a catcher some skill at pitcher defense (don't forget that, by the way). But, I have the feeling that you are going to be this with my suggestion, because it's a lot of work, obviously. Maybe somebody else knows of a quicker way to give all your players some pitching ability.

It seems to me that all batters already have some pitching ability. It is usually negligible. 1 out of 100 on the rating scale, for example.
On the right hand side of the League_Settings/Players screen, there are player creation modifiers. Pitching Stuff, Movement, and Control are included as well as other pitching metrics. I presume that if you set those numbers much higher, pitching quality of all new players will improve. |

I thought of that but I doubt it would work. That would upgrade the "universe" of pitching in that pitching would come to dominate your baseball world but the proportion of good to bad to non-pitchers would still stay the same.
In other words, the best pitchers would set new standards for excellence in the league while the worst would still look terrible in comparison. The best pitchers would routinely throw shutouts while the worst would look bad by giving up a run here and there. I don't think that's what OP intends. I believe he wants a league of two-way players but still with a realistic array of pitching talent comparable to real life.

Thanks for the replies.
I was looking for a batch way to do it. I guess i could export the rosters and edit them in excel but i always seem to have issues importing them. i am trying to create a league that everyone can play every position. I will not have a draft and just create new players as needed. |

Agreed, DeJa Bru.
Sometimes I consider a universe similar to that the original poster described. One simple way to get the desired players would be to delete all pitchers (SP, RP, CL). That way, all batters who pitch are competing in a balanced way with each other in a relative sense. This could be done by having twice as many feeders as needed, allowing deletion of all pitchers from the draft pool. Or, after all new players are created, delete all new pitchers from teams. Then use "Fill All Teams with players" to fill back up with more batters. Repeat as many times as needed to have a universe of only batters. Might be easier than creating players manually. |

I going to play around with that with a 4 team league to see how it works. |
