Seriously ESPN?

How can you partner with a group of lowlife internet trolls that spoke so abusively of anyone, let alone on of your own high profile employees? And you supposedly have a strict social media profile that requires your personalities to behave in a certain way or else they get suspended or fired?

No class.

Good. Considering that they canned Curt Schilling for repeating his political views after being warned, and suspended Jemele Hill for the same it was stunning hypocrisy for them to partner with Barstool.

Nah, Schilling didn't start out getting fired immediately. He was warned and suspended multiple times and continued to state controversial views even after that. Hill was warned the first time and suspended the second time. I expect if she continues to speak out she too will get fired at some point.

You said they fired Schilling but suspended Hill for "the same". Your words. So it's NOT the same? I don't watch, follow, or remotely care about ESPN. I just thought it incredibly hypocritical to fire one & suspend the other for the same thing. So if Hill does it one more time, she SHOULD be fired.

Because it's an escalating process. Schilling was warned for airing his political views. Then he was suspended. Then he was suspended again. Then he was eventually fired. Hill was warned for airing her views. Then she was suspended. So, yes, Schilling was fired for airing his political views after being warned and suspended twice. It's the same in the sense that she, like Schilling, was warned about airing her views and then was suspended. What would be different would be if ESPN had gone straight to firing after giving her a warning.

Anyway, the point is that Barstool as a brand is basically a walking toxic MRA convention of crude and antiquated sexism. Suspending and firing employees for airing their political views and then partnering with an entity like that is stunningly hypocritical.

That's because I totally misunderstood what he wrote. I thought he meant they had both been punished for the same exact infractions. They were, but Schilling had been warned SEVERAL times, not once. I thought they were both warned once. That's why I said it was hypocritical. So basically Schilling struck out, Hill has 2 strikes. Like I said, I don't follow and I despise ESPN, so I really didn't know the ENTIRE story. just some of it. My bad.
