I could go for that. Pretty much for the 'Stros, although not as hardcore as I would have been if it had been the Cubs. I do like that they're good at beating evil corporate empires (Red Sox, Yankees), though. Two down, one to go.

Something I wouldn't have dared to think about chanting even a few months ago.
AS-TROS! AS-TROS! AS-TROS! Yeah.

Well, as a representative of one of those evil empires, I do endorse your rooting for the Astros because they beat the Yankees. Now let's not have them stink versus the Dodgers because that would make the Yankees look bad. (Hey, gotta find something to root for here besides Hurricane Harvey survivors, etc.)

Can't help but root for the feel good story built in with the Astros, but Kershaw winning a World Series would be sweet so hard to go wrong either way.

I dont care who wins. I like players on both teams. Kershaw, Altuve, Correra, Springer. If i had to choose i would like to see the Astros win in 7.

As a Tigers fan I'm rooting for the Astros so Verlander can finally have the elusive ring.

For some reason i had thought the Tigers won one already. I like Verlander so i guess I'll cheer for the Astros.

Nope. Been twice in the last decade-ish (2006, 2012) but lost both.

Most years, I root for the National League team. I'm confused because there are two NL in the World Series for the first time ever.
All that talk about how the AL is better talent-wise than the NL? Houston, a previous NL team has risen to the top already in the AL. Seems to me that talk was much ado about nothing.

I love how Justin Turner has risen to something close to a star in L.A. after rotting on the far end of the Mets' bench for years and years.

https://nbchardballtalk.files.wordpr...dick.jpg?w=640 I remember seeing an A's game and one of the announcers remarked how there were beards and there were beards, but that thing was "out of control".

I used to really like the Astros back when the Killer B's were around. That said, these Dodgers are something special and I have bled Dodger Blue since the 70's.
Interesting side note, boyhood hero (and my avatar <--) Steve Garvey was doing post-game duties on the local Fox affiliate and he was just terrible!

Not all former players are made for this, obviously. F.e. Kirk Gibson. He's seen the game from every perspective there is, and I am pretty sure that he knows a thousand times as much about baseball than I do, but when he's doing color for the Tigers and talks about anything, my feet go numb.
