Loved the pic of Jim Nettles with the Royals....some of my favorite prints in my office are players in the dugout....the background of that photo is outstanding- I thought to myself "what does that t shirt say (is it a classic t shirt like the Dave Parker or Bert Blyleven one) also I think "who is that with the afro"

My favorite player of all time is Frank Tanana...I have not seen any topps vault photos of him...thanks

I drew a blank on Schult and guessed Koonce on the other. You are '2 for 2'. Very Appreciative!

Topps Vault Folder BJ 701

If these questions should go under a different 'thread' please let me know! Chop Country has BJ 701 listed as Sammy Taylor. I know BJ 700 is Sammy Taylor. Is the image of the Mets ballplayer someone else? Again thanks to all in the community for their assistance. (5¢ a pack - luvbblogos).

Ramon Hernandez circa 1969

This black & white image of Ramon Hernandez with St. Louis is currently on sale on eBay by baseball relics. The record shows he was in their sysem in 68 and was cut by St. Louis on March 31 of 1969.
First time I've seen a Cardinals image of him. Does anyone have or know of any color shot of from that spring?

Also looking for St. Louis color of Willie (or Willy) Montanez. Seen a couple of B&W shots including cuurrent eBay offering by baseball relics. He was a Rule V pickup by the Angels, but was returned to the Cardinals in mid-66 and was not dealt to the Phillies until April of 1970.

Topps Vault Folder BI 'ID's'

I've finished Folder Bi. I have 'id' questions on the following. Chop Country has BI 209 as Carl Warwick, BI 236 as Chuck Hiller, BI 250 & 251 as Norm Larker, BI 259 as Willie Tasby and BI 260 as Earl Robinson. I don't believe any are correct. Am I right or wrong. Again thanks in advance for any help in 'id-ing' these images. '5¢ a pack -luvbblogos).

Thanks again. BJ 701 is a Met. Chop Country has him as Sammy Taylor. BJ 700 is Sammy Taylot but I'm not sure about the Met in 701. Can you help? (5¢ a pack - luvbblogos).

No reflection on the new guy, but I thought we were supposed to be done with this and that Chop Country was...let's just say not in Topps' good graces for making those old folders available. That's why I don't answer these queries. Whatever. 701 is Robert Schmidt, for whatever that's worth. And no way in hell is Bi259 Dick Simpson.

FatJack is correct. We no longer field questions, comments or concerns about images in the Topps Vault that are not currently being featured on EBay. Please and thank you.

Images of Baseball Players!

I now understand what I can and can not discuss. I was provided with all the images some time ago via private email. After Baseball-Birthdays removed all of their images I consulted the Chop Country website for names only. I was not aware that they provided the images under discussion. Should I come across an unidentified player who can I contact? Any future help with 'id's' would be greatly appreciated. This will be my final comment on the above mentioned items. From 'ort...' to 'Cochise...' to 'Merkle..' and of course 'JOHN...', and everyone else my thanks for your contributions to this rewarding and exciting hobby. (5¢ a pack - luvbblogos).

Identification Game - Rick Reichardt Version

Hey all,

I am having a friendly debate with a real good guy that claims the image on the left below is former Angel and ChiSox OF - Rick Reichardt.

I disagree. I know that the image on the right is Rick, but am unsure that both of the images are of the same person.

Might some of the members that are great at identifying players, like keonleafs, Merkle, and others - help confirm? Thanks in advance!

Mystery Sox

Attachment 526162I don't have access to this Chisox spring roster/number information, but I'll throw in a couple guesses - perhaps a young and cleanshaven Tim Stoddard or Bart Johnson (who did wear #42 at least some time during 1971, according to BR)
