Player offered max entry level contract, won't accept?

Just tried to offer an entering player (picked #1 overall in the 2018 draft) a max entry level contract (this is in the 2019 off-season), but he won't accept a two-way contract. Unfortunately, I can't offer him a one-way contract. Is there any way around this, other than to trade him?

Is he specifically refusing the two-way contract (and not saying he won't sign because he's in college/Europe?) What league had he been playing in previously?

The Swedish Hockey League, with Frolunda, and yes, he was specifically refusing the two-way contract. Truth be told, he would have likely never seen the minors for us anyway, but the two-way contract issue was still a deal-breaker.

Can you upload the save? (Instructions here) That sounds suspiciously like a problem we fixed a while ago, although I think it was with Russians then.

I wish I could, but unfortunately, I've overwritten it several times since then.

I just uploaded it under GoldenKnights.zip...only thing is, it's gone forward a couple of months since then. Rasmus Dahlin is the name of the player (a real-life player, FYI, which should probably make it even easier to find).

Exact same thing just happened to me (in FHM3, though).
The prodigy (Dahlin) won't come over because he wants "a one-way deal with the big club" and therefore doesn't sign a two-way contract.

That's why I couldn't live without commish mode...
