Quasi-historical league (1953) has opening

The United League started in 1951 with a draft of historical players into an eight-team league. We are in our third season now (June 1953), with a very high owner participation rate, and a very competitive league.

We have one opening, for the New York Gothams. The original owner had to leave the OOTP community, and he leaves behind a competitive team that boasts Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams (currently in Korea), and Yankee Stadium. The club is currently tied for second place.

The premise of the United League is that Organized Baseball went bankrupt in 1950, and a new league was formed in 1951 with a draft of existing major league players. Other than that ahistorical twist, we are trying to maintain a high level of realism. In practice, this means we have no DH, no free agency, and had some players drafted into military service for the Korean War (ending in about a month).
