Out of curiosity does anyone here ever keep a eye on a opponent player and potentially root for the player??? I have 3 current players I constantly watch with keen interests also they never been on my team. If you do please either post career or simply talk about the players your watching ??

I've been watching Hammer Bumpers for quite some time. He just won his 8th MVP at age 38 and ended the season just 2 homers shy of 700. He's the all-time home run leader in my alternate universe. (1871-1978 so far)
Beazle Stempien has also caught my eye. He's still only 26 and has lead the league in OPS each of his 5 seasons so far. He missed the home run crown this year for the first time, thanks to Hammer Bumpers moving over to the National League. He's never had an OBP less than .428 Those two are on other teams, but even if Andre Rojas weren't on my team, I'd still be following his career. He's also an on-base machine: Career OBP of .431 so far over 7 years and he's never had a season OBP under .400. He's also a good-fielding third-baseman and that usually gets his WAR above those other two who are amazing sluggers but pretty much hopeless in the field. |

you certainly have good players to keep an eye on ... hope hammer is able to break the 762 record (real life) but will he be able to reach the 3000 mark in hits hmm dunno. would be interesting if hammer becomes a hitting coach and end up on Beazle Stempien team and help him extend his career numbers as well. Andre has some good numbers going as well but the Hammer should be first ballot HOF only question if 100%. I only have one 100% HOF player. (Jose Fernandez)

I have two shortlists I use to follow players. One is the top young players in the league and the other is guys who look like they're potential Hall of Famers. It's fun to transfer guys from the first list to the second when they get around age 30.

I always keep tabs on players that I let walk in FA to see how they are doing and if I made the right choice by letting walk. The satisfaction I felt after seeing my SS who demanded 30 million a season now hitting below .200 and on the bench is something else.

OUCH that a player wanting 20 mil and play so horrible.
I do have a new player I am keeping an eye on. There was a INTL player I was trying hard to get for he would have filled my empty infield position nicely but couldn't afford what he demanded after the battle with Memphis (they got him for $24/year) |

In my EBL league, which I edit players each year to reflect their stats from previous games i watch almost the whole league but here are a few favorites of players who have never played on a team of mine.
