How Often Have 2 Teams From the Same State Played vs Each Other In The World Series In Your League?

I finally got a rematch of 1906 in my EBL vs MLB game. How often have the Yanks played the Mets. Giants vs A's. Angels vs Dodgers, etc have you seen in your game?

Twice and back to back. In the first season, I was manager of the Angels and took them to the series against the Dodgers (winning 3-2) and the very next season when my managerial contract was up I signed on with the fictional Austin Tornadoes and successfully led them in their inaugural year to the World Series where we swept the Houston Astros.

One of my earlier games the Houston Astros defeated the Rangers in the 1980 WS.

I do not play historical or modern MLB often but in one save Boston NL and Boston AL met in the WS five times in a row in the desdball era and 7 times total in a 8 year stretch before both teams went into a decline.

Boston NL/ Braves in many of their forms were actually the most dominant franchise in the league until I quit that save in the late 1970s.
They won 59.7% of their games which far exceeds the RL Yankees 56.9 % win rate.

I should have kept that save since I have not seen close to it in almost any other save. I don’t remember any year in particular but even rebuilding they would exceed expectations and be close to or above .500 and quickly be back in contention.

Sox v. Cubs in 2023 for me in this most recent playthrough. Seeing a few other people with a similar result makes me optimistic for some Chicago fun in the next decade... :-D

Not really fair, since in my alternate universe I had 5 teams in New York for a while. (New York Yankees, New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, Albany Dukes and Buffalo Hoggees)

But I liked this run of 12 consecutive years when the Buffalo Hoggees faced the New York Giants in the World Series - each of them winning 6. What a rivalry!

The Buffalo Hoggees were my team at the time. This is the only time I've ever seen a computer-controlled team build such a strong long-lasting dynasty rivaling some of my best human-built dynasties. That actually made me feel better. I think I would've quit the Hoggees sooner and started building up some other team if it weren't for this rivalry with the computer-controlled Giants.

@ Cobby How many teams in your league almost thought you only had 4 teams LOL just being silly but seriously that's amazing string you had going there.

My longest running save is my New England League, so it happens quite a bit. The Connecticut teams in particular seem to reach the postseason more often than other states, for whatever reason.

Thanks. Yes, now that you mention it - that was a pretty good run. These days I don't let it get to that point - I used to have a hard time switching teams. I just liked watching the evolution of the team over time and built up a certain amount of loyalty. But I found that switching teams is like pulling a band-aid off. Painful at first, but once it's over with I quickly get into the new team. So, lately after I get a team rolling pretty good, I take over the worst team in the league or an expansion team and start over again.

Anyway, this was classic 16-team baseball. Eight AL and eight NL. Pennant winners meet in the WS. So not quite as difficult to get to the world series as it is these days.
