Second License Issue

Hey guys, I'm still waiting to hear back from the devs, but I thought I would ask what your experiences have been on this issue.

So, I want to license my game on a 2nd computer, but I already had it licensed on another computer in the past, which I no longer have access to. Is there a way to get that license removed, or another added, so I can put it on the new computer?

Thanks for the help.

Is this through Steam? Have you talked to Steam?

As for removing a license that was valid when it was initiated on a computer that you no longer have access to, I think that would likely be illegal for a third party to perform.

That would be like buying a painting from an art gallery, putting the painting in your house, selling the house with the painting in it, then asking the art gallery to go to the house and take back or destroy the painting. Imo, the art gallery is a third party and has no right to remove property from one person based only on the request of another person.

And why would a company even do that? They've been paid and it was up to you to do the proper things to safeguard your rights. If you wanted to transfer the license, you should have done it when you had the chance (assuming you even can transfer the particular license you have.) What incentive or obligation does the company have to invade or modify a third party's property, (which by the way is almost certainly illegal in many if not all states due to privacy laws?)

If you are asking whether they will simply "grant" you another "second" license, only they can answer that.

I did not take the original post as asking to access the old computer. But everything else in the post above is still valid.

They have sold the license and fulfilled that purchase.
I'm sure they have heard every excuse possible, whether truthful or less than.
And yes, having a computer or laptop fail is very plausible.
Never hurts to ask.

Yes, you can get that license reset. Go through tech support and explain your problem. They will gladly help you.

1) When you buy the game you are buying 2 licenses. You already have the second license. You can install and play on a 2nd computer now.
2) In his http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...er.php?u=19488 signature is a link to do a support ticket. The can release the license form the old CPU and you an use it on another CPU.

Good luck,
Tom (LP)

Note that support tickets sometimes take a while (and occasionally require some prodding). I miss the old eSellerate days when it was all automated. :/
