Starting Fictional League 20-25 Yrs Ago. Is there an Easy Way to Avoid Steroid Like Stats?
Every Fictional game I start in a previous era looks like a roid fest. Players hitting 75 HRs & 167 RBIs in a season.
I've seen posts about "Recalc" but that's for Historical Leagues, am I wrong? I see no such for setting up a Fictional League. Tried lowering the Home Runs setting on the Sabermetric Player Creation Modifier page but that's not enough. I don't know anything about Long Term Modifiers, which ones to adjust to my liking-or how often to change them. I change the Totals From Year setting on Jan. 1st to the current year. Are there ton of settings I would have to adjust every year or just only during initial setup? Or would I be better off starting a Historical League with all fictional players and use Recalc when setting up the game? Thanks |

Use modifiers from a year when pitching had more of an advantage and home runs were not as common. 1968 is an extreme year, but years from the 70s had fewer home runs and pitchers had a more of an edge, especially compared to the steroid era.

I also had to uncheck League Total Modifiers which is on by default. It kept offsetting my results. |
