Controlling minor league lineups

In Challenge Mode (first time player) ...

I want to develop a particular player at a new position but I cannot seem to get the AI to let him play there -- among other lineup frustrations.

How can I make and save lineup changes at the minor league level?

gm control settings -- if coach only, may not be able to do this.

it is likely delegated to your "minor league managers" by default. click the menu at top where it says your name etc... click office or find "control" settings under that file menu (similar verbage if not exactly that)

Go to the Player strategy menu for that player (right-click on the player name) and "force start" the player at the position you desire.

not sure if this applies to MiL coaches -- but if "controlling" in any way (a red dot anywhere on TeamStrategy page and also visible on the coach's profile, you may need GM-Legacy Mode -- checkbox located in Global Settings at bottom-left.
