Numbers next to Goalies Name

Most goalies in my game will have a number such as:
Markstrom (2)
or
Hellebuyck (2)
I cant seem to figure out what this means on the roster page.

Goalie heat - a measure of how well he' s been playing recently.

those numbers are also shown on the strategy/lines screen as the ice and fire. 0=ice 1-4 equal corresponding fire.
