Sale Silences Jays Bats In 5-1 Win.

Marcus Stroman and Chris Sale were locked in a pitchers battle all night long, only broken in the 8th when Benintendi came to the plate with his team winning 2-1 and took Stroman deep handing his team a 5-1 one lead that would soon be converted to a victory.

Russ Martin picked up the only RBI for his team, his 44th of the season.

The Jays will look to even the series tomorrow at Fenway Park.

Shields Continues Struggles In Loss To Red Sox.

The Jays have stumbled out of the second half gate as the latest loss came off of a poor outing from James Shields giving up 5 runs over 4 innings pitched. The bullpen wasn't any better giving up 2 runs of their own. The Jays are in need of a strong start to get the rotation going.

Ceciliani who has taken over in Center Field outperforming Kevin Pillar at the moment picked up an RBI along with Sanchez as the big bats were silent tonight.

Jays have two more games against Boston to kick things back into shape.

Jays Embarrassed By Bo Sox As Tough Start To Second Half Continues.

Marco Estrada picked up his first loss of the 2017 season in a start where he just couldn't get the feel for his good stuff. He gave up 7 runs in his outing and was less than thrilled with himself afterwards. The Jays are still searching for a lights out start in the second half.

Josh Donaldson picked up the sole RBI for the Jays as the offence continues to stay quiet.

Happ Spins Gem, Jays Win 5-0.

Happ went 7 innings allowing no runs on three hits and striking out 5 in the process. The win pushed Toronto's lead in the American League East to 9 games.

Ryan Braun hit a leadoff homer in the first off of David Price, his second home run to leadoff a game since move to the #1 spot. He ended the game with 2 hits as the Jays offence snapped its drought.

Toronto now heads to Cleveland in what could be a potential ALDS preview.

Donaldson's 2 Homer Day Leads Jays Past Indians 5-3.

If Donaldson wasn't smoking the ball out of the ballpark Friday night Francisco Liriano would've been the story of the game. Liriano 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5. Biagini finished things off converting his 16th save in 17 attempts.

Josh Donaldson went 2-for-4 upping his home run total to 23 on the season, good for 2nd in American League. He is also now the American League WAR leader as he is starting to put together an MVP caliber season.

The Jays will look for the series win in Cleveland tomorrow.

Errors Prove Costly As Indians Slide Past Jays 5-2.

2 errors in the bottom of the 6th led to 3 runs by the Indians as they hung to beat the Blue Jays despite an otherwise great outing by SP Marcus Stroman.

Bautista homered for the 14th time this season along with Russell Martin who hit his 16th. That was the only offence for the day for Toronto.

The Jays will look to take the rubber match tomorrow in Cleveland.

Francisco Mejia Walks Off Jays In The 9th For Series Win.

The Jays will be happy to get out of Cleveland and head home as Grilli was the latest victim to the Indians. Shields put in a terrific performance, going 7 innings allowing just one run but his first one as a Jay will have to wait as the Indians walked things off for their 25th win of the season.

Yolmer Sanchez hit a home run, his first as a Jay. That was the only offence for Toronto.

The Jays now head home for a four game set with the Athletics. Avila is expected to make his Jays debut tomorrow.

Jays Fall To 8-12 In July Following Loss To Lowly Athletics.

Toronto coughed up the lead twice on Monday night as Estrada left early with in an injury that won't keep him out. Oberholtzer and Burdi were not sharp giving up 5 of the 7 runs the A's picked up on the night.

Yolmer Sanchez played for a tired Josh Donaldson and hit his second Homer in as many nights. The offence was strong tonight but the pitching wasn't clicking as it led to Toronto's third straight loss.

Jays Offence Explodes, Toronto Defeats Oakland 10-1.

Ryan Braun and Jose Bautista went deep combining for 4 of the Jays 10 runs on the night. Darrell Ceciliani had 2 of his own as the offence came out of hibernation in a 10-1 win over the Athletics.

Happ went 8 innings allowing 1 runs on 4 hits while striking out three on his way to his 4th win of the season and second since returning from injury. He has been very sharp since his return.

The Jays will look to build on the victory tomorrow against Oakland.

Jays Pen Wastes Good Start, Toronto Loses 13th Game Of July.

The Jays will have to wait a little longer to fully snap their first rough stretch of the 2017 season as Howell came in with a 3-2 lead in the 8th and gave up 3 runs, blowing a fantastic Francisco Liriano outing.

Morales hit his 22nd homer of the season, but it wasn't enough to get the Jays past the Athletics.

Toronto will look for the series split tomorrow against Oakland at the Rogers Centre.

Stroman Dominates, Jays Win 4-0.

Marcus Stroman went 7 innings allowing no earned runs and just two hits. He also recorded 11 strikeouts completely dominating the Athletics one through nine. Loup and Grilli took over and closed things out.

Donaldson picked up an RBI on a run scoring double and Bautista picked up 3 RBIs including a 3 run home run off of Hahn.

Toronto will now host the Angels and their newly acquired First Baseman Edwin Encarnacion who had a falling out with Indians management before being traded.

Tulo's Grand Slam Leads Jays Past Angels Late.

Another stellar James Shields start will have to wait to be capped with a win as J.P. Howell came in and allowed the Angels to score three in the 8th, giving LA a 5-3 lead. Howell however, finished with the win as the Jays got it back with one swing of the bat in the bottom half.

Tulo hit his 8th home run of the season, a Grand Slam in the bottom of the 8th to put the Jays back on top 7-5. The big hit shadows the fact the bullpen has had trouble getting it done... for now.

The Jays will look for the series win tomorrow as the trade deadline approaches.

Liriano Lights Out As Jays Usher In Post Deadline Era With 8-0 Win.

Liriano's 12th win came on the effort of a complete game 5 hitter as he aided the team on their way to their 5th straight win. He struck out 11 on the night and had White Sox batters searching for answers.

Donaldson had a big night at the plate along with a bunch of other batters including Devon Travis who hit his first homer since returning from the DL.

Toronto opens August with game 2 in Chicago tomorrow where Logan Morrison and some of the new relievers will likely make their debuts.
