Question for random debut options

Responded with this in an older thread and realized it was in the '17 forum, so starting a new thread here.

I am wondering if you can add the random debut to a fictional league that has been running 15 years now (league year is 2028)? I tried before my last draft and didn't get any historical players, but I only had "use random rookies from all eras" checked. Do I just need to check the other box too or will this not work for me?

Any other advice or suggestions for this would be greatly appreciated as well...assuming of course I can use the option for my league.

I think you want both boxes checked. What I would do if I was you, is set up a fictional test league, sim a couple fictional years and then check the historical rookies box and the random box and check to see if you get real or fictional players for your draft. Another thing you may want to do is, move your draft to December. Not sure if it matters, since you are playing fictional, but I know when not, Markus said always keep November/December draft when using historical players.

Cool thanks...I think having the draft in November is more for importing the historical rookies in the season that they originally appeared. I think testing it out is a great idea. I may need to figure out how to get some younger players in the league too, since I have 2 levels of minors to fill.
