This is what I use https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-E...ct_top?ie=UTF8

It runs OOTP without any issues, though its $100 over what you want to spend. I'm sure there are better but this one has worked great for me!

And this is what my storage looks like. I also have 2TB iCloud storage as well. Space is never an issue for me.

I had my os and games on my 120GB ssd but yesterday i only 7GB left.
I have a 1Tb inretnal drive, 4TB seagate central and two 1tb passport. I could chnaged my directory but then i thought i my lose the benefits of an ssd if has to access the hdd all the time.
I could have got a 500GB ssd but i decided to get a 4tb so i can use the 1TB wd drive for now till i can get a 1TB ssd.
I bought a 4TB wd internal drive on sale for $109.
My system booted only 7 seconds slower after a clean install than with the ssd. Of course it will be different when everything is fragmented but by then i should have the ssd.

to save space i keep my ootp data directory on the HDD. you only lose a very small amount of performance. zero different once the game is loaded, guranteed. (saving is a few seconds slower, i guess. about ~2 seconds for me, no exagerration)

may want to double check if you own a newer SSD, but in general and in the recent past (~3 and more years ago) they always suggested you leave ~20-25% space open... it has to do with how it handles the data when you aren't looking to even out use throughout the solid state drive. you don't wear out some nand ??? forget what they are called indivudually nand-something?

do a simple hd stress test and see if still getting decent throughput.. if so ignore me and 7% is probably okay... i wouldn't fill it up to the brim though unless you read somethign that says you can, now.

Multimidea files -- absolutely ZERO gain from keeping this stuff on an SSD... maybe when we get to 3d hologram the throubput will require more than what a hdd can do, but at the moment that's far from true.

ie audio and video streams play at a snail's pace... reading it quickly does nothing noticeable from end-user standpoint.

So, don't store that kind of crap on an SSD, if you don't need to. anythign that doesn't "run fast" for whatever reason is wasted on an SSD. since you have 2 drives, you can likely shift the slow stuff to a mechancial drive and not notice any difference.

I Know when i simmed from 1871 to 2014 the ootp directory was using a lot of space. I could put everything on the other drives as backup and just keep the stuff i use a lot on the ssd. I just dont think 120GB is going to be enough space. I think larger ssds are coming down in price. I think i will get at least a 500GB.
Next laptop i get i think i will go with just ssd and use passport drives for backups.

definitely... i'd love a 500gb-1tb ssd to keep anythign except multimedia files on it.

you can turn old hdd into portable drive, for what it's worth. think it's called a dock or something.. make it plug in with USB etc and incredibly easy to do for anyone who can use a screwdriver. easier than a slow data transfer to a portable drive out of the box.

i don't have the same haircut or ssame style as i did many years ago, but i will never give up my desktop i don't need portability though. nothing beats kicking back on a coach and using a big tv.
