Defaulting to #3 starting pitcher for playoffs

I'm not sure why this has been happening, but for the playoffs, even with all starters rested, it seems to be defaulted to my #3 starter. There have been a couple times where that starter has the best ERA for the season just completed, but that's not how I have it set. I don't recall this happening in previous iterations of the game.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Am I doing something wrong?

Do you have foreign player limits on? That caused a conflict with the playoff roster option for me including what you described

do you have "always start highest rested?" possibly occasionally too, not 100% sure anymore...


but... with that setting and all other things being the same, namely fatigue, it will use the highest rated, first. just a possibility to throw out there... switch to strict for playoffs for sure, if not.

Where is this? I'm not seeing a "foreign player limits" box per se. I see a certain percentage of foreign players, is it somewhere on that same screen?

if the 3rd guy is rated better, that's definitely it, then... when playoffs start make sure to switch to strict (other teams will, too if your Stats and AI setting for this rotation settings is "Default" , assume for "always / occassionally" too).

playoff strats have no need for the other rotation settings for the most part.

if not... foreign player limit -- possibly 2 related settings, if i recall

i'd assume that is in League settings -> players tab? maybe left or right of that. options, rules, players one of those. (possibly somethign related in financial settings, too?)

Well he's not rated higher in stars anyways...

I'm not sure how foreign players impacts starting pitching choices you'll have to explain that one to me...

i've also noticed when I forced start SP or RP's then it will do it

This is a dumb suggestion but... is it simply his turn? Depending on how you set your playoffs, your rotation may just finish at the #2 starter. I forgot to set my rotation at the end of the season and got stuck with the #4 starter opening a 5 game series

i'm not familiar with that one... but i wouldn't doubt you can find info on it in the forums if they say so. someone in this thread verified i tihnk, unless i am misreading the reply's intent.

if you didn't change it, it's likely default to unlimited, but take a glimpse at a it. click through though tabs, it's a gui, the more you use it the more familiar it becomes... looks worse than it is once familiar.
