universe ideas

Hi all need some help im still tinkering with new universe ideas.

This is what I have done in the past 4 different groups (wbc, ibf, wba, ibo whatever) have the fighters start out fighting in their own group until they hit contender and then whatever group after two years has the lowest number of fighters (or losing record) in the championship level will draft first (usually taking the highest rated fighter) while the title holder of the four groups drafts last. Did that until computer crashed and then simplified that with no draft one ONE group broken down in 16 rookies (8 random and 8 historic fighters) fight for four years (three fights each year) then after the 12th fight they will do a contender style tourney (gotta love the way the british handles fighters) three rounds single elim tourney with the top 8 advancing to contender and should they win the contender tourney they get a title shot in the next two years they are eligible to be there (championship level is all based on rank)

Here is what I am thinking. WHEN the new game comes out there are persistent rumors of a career mode with values tied to the fighters.

Question #1 have any of you out there worked on a uni that involves fighter contracts (if so how)

Question 2 while i do not see a way to do it but do some of you with the different regional fight clubs have trainers/cutmen/judges/refs in each region (if you do have regional trainers do you assign them to a specific fighter or just pick random in that region?)

question 3 to those that use an excel based spreadsheet to keep track of your fighters (especially allowing for random injuries) how do you offset the injury factor with a fighter that is injured? meaning that in a 12 man divisional format if one gets hurt that will call off that fight against that particular fighter which in a way can affect the whole card so how do you offset that?

question 4 for those of you that does regional fights do you keep the fighters in that region until they are eligible to move up or do you allow regional rivals ala the world series of boxing?

question 5 do you prefer real/historic or rfg fighters?

question 6 any uni ideas i could try?????

Thing about boxing, especially in the old days, it was basically chaos. No leagues. No commissioner. Just managers and promoters running the whole show with a loose set of guidelines (The Marquis/Marquess of Queensbury/Queensberry rules or a variation of the rules originally drawn up by sportsman John Graham Chambers and endorsed by John Douglas 9th Marquis/Marquess.) and a herd of prize fighters of varying degrees of intellect/independence. That was the reality.

In Title Bout you can create whatever alternate universe you can imagine. You can have it strictly organized like baseball with leagues and such or total carnival-like chaos, or anything in between.

Re: Corner Men. I decided to create a large number of historical and fictional trainer/cutmen from different countries and assign them to each fighter. Each man is both a trainer and cutman to make things simpler.

As for fighters, I tend to use much more historical boxers than fictional, but I use most of the fictional I create to pad the records of other boxers.

Instead of the truly chaotic reality of the prize ring I decided to form one world boxing commission (The IBU) to police the sport and several national or regional bodies that would answer to the IBU. Having one world championship tends to increase the importance of national and regional titles as the world title should be fought for less frequently, which spotlights the other champions in my AU.

Cap please give me an idea of a baseball league type setup especially how to start one. I do believe in a one world title as well.

Sorry, Zy. There must be one or two in the Inside the Ropes section you could mirror. I never had anything like that myself with leagues and a draft and all that. I'm sure I've seen something along those lines in the ITR section.
