2017 New York Mets

Here's an archive of images of the current New York Mets 40-man roster. Each image is in .png format, measures 1000x1214 pixels, and has a transparent background for easy layering over the background of your choosing. An 800x800 .png file of the team logo is included. I'll be deleting the archive in a month or so due to storage limitations.

Here's my attempt at Bloodworth on the Nationals. I needed it for my 41 set

New Nonagenarian - Bob Talbot

Bob Talbot (Cubs OF:1953-1954) turns 90 today. Are there any photos of him? Also there is a 1955 Bowman card of him if anyone could post it. He becomes the 71st currently living MLB player who is at least 90 years of age, according to the Wikipedia.org oldest living MLB players list.

According to Baseball-Almanac, Untermeyer was drafted from St. Johns River Community College, which I think is the school now known as St. Johns River State College. Untermeyer was from Jacksonville, Florida.

My friend has a number of photos taken at Fenway in 1950 that were in his father's things when he passed. They all have names and dates on the back except these two. Does anyone have any idea who these may be? The scans are terrible. If no one can tell from these, I will try to up my scanning game. :-)

Many thanks

Edit: These may not have been taken in Fenway. Some of the photos are dated 10/19/50 - so they could have been from an exhibition game in the Hartford area. I think Dillon Stadium may have had lights then.

Frank House

The Tiger in the 1950 "Fenway Park" photo looks to me like Frank House. He is posed as a left-handed batter. None of the other left-handed batters who played for the 1950 Tigers match.

Thank you!

The Yankee looks vaguely like Whitey Ford to me but I am not good at IDs

Ed Lopat

Less sure about this one, but think there is a match with the Yankee at "Fenway Park" in 1950.

There was another labeled photo of Lopat from the same night. Different pose and lighting but your call looks to be right. My friend's dad was Polish and had written Lopat's full Polish last name spelling so it stands to reason that he would have been interested enough to grab another shot.

Looking at the full collection of photos - they seem to all be from the same night 10-19-50. Our best guess at this point is that they were from an exhibition game at Muzzy Field in Bristol where the Bristol Bees played or Buckley Stadium in Hartford where the Hartford Chiefs played.

Wish I could scan these for real - my document scanner doesn't really cut it.

Edit: Bristol Owls - not Bees
