SP labeled as RP, why?

i have seen in online leagues SP (Aces) labeled as RP.

is there any effect?
if not, why is it done?

is it during free agency? If so, it's a sneaky plan for the original owner to sign him for cheap

i saw it most recently during our last playoffs.
i understand that starting pitchers who are moved to the bullpen for the playoffs are also moved to RP. but it was for some regular SP who stayed in the playoffrotation too.
and 1 atleast signed an extension (though i dont know if he was labeled as RP then too), would that make it cheaper?

It does not make it cheaper...the AI still recognizes them as starters.

This appears to be an ongoing issue...may be related to latest patch...I first noticed it during the off-season free agent period where almost all quality SPs were mislabelled....but now I just had my #2 SP (who fits SP profile..3 quality pitches etc) make the all star game and noted that he is now a 'reliever'

Makes it harder to sort for humans but as I noted the AI does not treat them any different...I did file a bug report about the issue.

i dont think it is an AI issue as it was in an online league and i assume the GMs did it on purpose.
i just want to find out if there is an actual reason for why they do it

I saw an issue in free agency where all the SP turned into RP. When they got signed they all revereted back to SP. Not sure if this a bug or what?
