Please help

Okay, so I'm a few months into a new season that I am having a lot of fun with.
I am using a very cheap laptop to play on, and I have had issues consistently with my games being unable to save, load, becoming corrupt, etc.
So I took a precaution and backed up my save file numerous times - but it will not work.
The reason I am trying to restore it, is because everytime I try to load my original file - it freezes exactly at 53% "loading scout sets" and crashes the program.
When I attempt to do a backup, it says "Error during backup function. The backup could not be updated!"
Is there anything I can do?

1) Do not delete.
2) On a PC, default install, the games puts saved games at:
C:/Users/**You**/Documents/OOTP/OOTP18/savedgames
Open your league and copy the .dat files.
Back up to saved games.
Create a new league folder. You can name it whatever you want just end it in .lg. Paste the .dat files in the new league folder. Open OOTP, select Load Game and try to load the new league.

Try that.

Thank you!!
I did this on the same laptop I had been using since its my only current option.
It worked for my backup, but original still fails at 53%.
All in all, lost 11 days on the season, but its 100000% better than losing everything.
Thanks again.

Question:
In my first PbP, it is "Creating Picture" of my pitcher and their hitter before and after each at bat - even after its been through each lineup.
Any reason why/way to stop that?

The .dats do not have images attached. You are going to have to recreate all of your images. There is a simpler way to do it other than each at bat in PbP but I do not know it. I recommend checking the league setting under images and see if there is a mass creation option or a setting that creates then immediately instead of when needed.
I copy and zip my league folder in the Saved Games folder as a form of back up. It takes a few minutes more than a normal auto save or backup but it creates another backup file. Someday they will put a rolling auto save in the game.
