Waivers Questions
What is the standard rules handling waivers? I see the norm as 72 hours to clear. What if someone claims him? How would you handle that in the game? How do you just place the player on another team along with the salary?

Ok....I guess there is no STANDARD way. I have heard 2 different ways to do it now...and both will work.

We do a cut-and-sign procedure modifying the corresponding text files.

1. turn financials of in league setup
2. write down the current contract 3. release the player 4. sign him for the claiming team 5. turn financial on (VERY IMPORTANT) 6. edit his contract back to old one 7. edit .txt files if wished

Ok....what if when you try to sign the player, he doesn't want to sign for the amount, or the years are too long, etc? What would you do?

give him any contract he wants, and then edit the contract and the .txt files.

Great. That works.
1 more question on waivers (I think) I see some rules that state... Cut the player into the FA pool, making him available to any team. If you choose this option, your team will be assessed the entire remaining salary for this season plus 50% of the remaining contract. How is this possible to do in the game? How can charge the team 50% of the remaining contract?

1. Keep financials on
2. Calculate the total value of contract AFTER current season 3. Release the player 4. credit 50% of point 3) to a teams cash or deduct it from his player expenses 5. Change .txt files if wanted Voila

When I am in edit mode....the only thing I can edit in front office is the CASH. Player expenses cannot be modified. For some reason it doesn't seem right to deduct the 50% of the salary from cash.

not deducting, you have to increase their cash with 50% of remainder of contract. Player expenses gets hit with 100% of remainder, so if cash is increased by 50% of remainer after current season you are safe

We always edit the player's contract before we cut them so that the team is charged the correct amount of money.
