Negro league question

Hi Guys I just started a 1927 league with color barrier off as I want to see
how good guys like Paige and Gibson will be having a chance from when they where young to play in the majors. So far I am in my 2nd season but still no black players in the draft. When should the black players start showing up if you have color barrier unchecked...

Did you check the box that says, "Full Minor leagues", when you created the game?
I believe you must check this box, in order to have the Negro league players available.

No, not Ghost Players.
On First screen when setting up new league .
Check the box directly under, import historical data.

Probably poorly.
They tend to import badly ratings wise due to having low ab and ip. Basically I am not sure if any could be stars at all, unless some changes have been made in the import system for them in the last patch.
I stopped using the feature once I saw how they rated. When I want historical with negro players I use the spritze db, I still modify a few negro players but the mods are minor.

Again maybe they updated...let us know if their ratings become star like or not when you start a new games.

You can adjust the amount of ab's and ip's needed for the ratings to get adjusted yourself when setting up the game. If you set that lower, the Negro League guys with lower playing time should import looking better.

Where do you make this adjustment?

AB's and IP's are already adjusted by the game for historical negro and hispanic players.

The results depend on a players playing environment. They will do less well in the MLB than the Negro Leagues. This should be expected. The players you expect can still be MLB stars as well as some that may have been forgotten.

I'm not sure you are correct here in assuming they would have done less well in MLB.

In order to make this assumption, you would need to assume that the Negro league was filled with inferior players.

Because they were not given a chance to play, and I believe a lot of them were just as good as the white players, they should come in at the same rating level as all MLB rated players.

I make this assumption because, in no period of time that I remember, were white players much better athletes than black players.

It is not really an assumption as OOTP looks at those players MiLB, MLB And Negro/Cuban careers and compares them on a molecular level.

For example 30,000 Negro and Cuban batting records are used in player batting ratings.

Try it and report over in negro league bug reports if you find things you don't like. We can test each players ratings to check if an error has occurred.
