Latest Game Update - Roster

Thank you so much for the update! It always feels like release day all over again with updates.

Can you give us any more details on Opening Day Roster Update and what has been done? (How many minor leaguers, indy leagues were updated ect, Have MLB Player ratings been tweaked?, ect.)

I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to start some new games and delete some old ones for MLB Play. THANKS!

It definitely would be nice to have a log of the players that were modified. Then it would give the option, instead of creating a new save, to instead tweak the players that were modified on your team in the same way in edit mode.

There's so much there's no way I'll get it all!

Some highlights:

Lots of new players added to the draft, other draft eligible players edited.

New IAFA's added.

Many MiLB players had their current ratings adjusted so they'll stick at the level they're currently playing irl. That's still a WIP for the lower levels of the minors btw.

The KBO was completely overhauled for the new season with most rookies added, ratings adjusted, offseason moves updated etc.

The Indy League rosters were updated based on recent moves.

Lots of other minor tweaks including a few ratings adjustments to MLB guys based on results so far this year (though we try not to go overboard with that and overreact to hot or cold starts).

Unfortunately that's never going to be possible.

And really, do you really want to manually adjust something like 10,000 players?

I've personally made around 8,000 edits in our db since the last patch (and an edit is only recorded when we hit save, any one edit could contain dozens of keystrokes and changes to individual ratings) and there are another half dozen guys all working in the db and making changes beyond what I'm doing!

You're really better off just starting a new game to get to play with the changes when we release a patch!

Don't mean to hijack this but - if I have a quickstart already made and I install this update can I start a new game using that quickstart and it will have the new roster changes? Or do I need to make a new fresh game, change settings, and save a brand new quickstart? I just want to know the easiest way to get the roster changes without having to go through all the specific league and game setting changes I did.

You would need to make a new fresh game, change settings, and save a brand new quickstart. There's not really any quicker way to do it that I know of.

I was just thinking of altering any changes for my team major league players. Such as the velocity changes for fulmer, verlander, and Justin Wilson....

Ah, gotcha. I don't think that's anything we'll do anytime soon, because it would still be a big pain to implement but it's maybe something to look at for the future, just to keep a log of changes to MLB players and release that.
