Rookie League question
should you strive to have 50 guys on one rookie league team? Or should you cull the herd down to 30 or so guys? And while im here, is there any detriment to having more than 25 guys on the other MiL teams? Oh, and when is a good time to get guys out of the International complex and into a different roster?

My set up, your mileage may vary:
AAA = 28 AA = 27 A = 27 R = 35 Unless guy in the International Complex has crazy ratings I don't pull up to Rookie until over 17 Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

its a pain come every draft. i'll cull R down to what i want (30-35) and then along comes the draft. Ill get the 5 or so guys that are decent, then the computer grabs any scrub it can for all rounds, filling up my roster to 50. So i have to go through and cut a pile of guys again.
I'm playing on 100% accurate scouting, because who has time to guess? I have about a million .5 star potential guys. will they ever get better? will the potential rise? I watch potential ratings rise and fall for guys that had a few stars already, but is it worth hanging on to a bunch of chumps in the hopes theyll get better? Star ratings can also be a little confusing. What number is considered average on the star scale? I changed it so all players ratings are relative to each other instead of by position because i feel like it gives a better representation of the overall player if hes good at multiple positions and want to swap him around. |

I let my staff run my minor-league system, for the most part -- assistant GM handles promotions and demotions other than those directly affecting "the big club," and minor-league managers can sign and release players.
And I end up with 80 guys on my rookie-league team. I don't know if this is a real problem. The guys who languish down there with no playing time are never, it seems, the real prospects. But this happens even though I do an annual Autumn Purge and release all of the 0.5-star potential guys, including those in the international complex. It always reloads. |

if you end up with 50-80 players in rookie ball, you either need another rookie level or your draft is too long
