Lost data, backup restore doesn't work

This morning I peaked into the results from the overnight sim and found... all the player stats were missing. All other data was intact. "Just" player stats for the season.

Unfazed, I thought ok, will just restore from the backup I made a couple of days ago.

Loaded backup and... no change. Same date, same issue. I know for a fact that the backup contained all seasonal and yearly data. However, when I reload it there is no difference.

In fact, the process of "restoring" from backup even fast forwarded the schedule. The season date before I restored was July 7. After restore it was July 9.

And still no stats.

Looking closer... I see that the stats the players do have seem to start from the allstar break (June 30). I have about 1 week of stats.

And looking even closer... I see that all historical data is missing. Basically, this 60+ season multi-league I've been patiently building is f-- screwed.

And the backup does nothing. I guess there was no backup made originally, even though it was backed up and there was a backup file to restore. But it didn't actually contain anything.

The only thing I can think of is that I was building a league yesterday, which didn't function properly, so I deleted it. Before deleting it I erased all data. So it seems that deleting all data from that league also deleted all data for all my leagues.

Which still doesn't explain why the backup didn't contain any data.

Livin the dream!!

I can't imagine erasing data from one league would do the same in other leagues.

Rather than using the restore function, try going to the folder the backup is in and then physically copy all the files in the league folder from that folder to a new folder (that you'll want to create, just give it a new name and make sure it ends in .lg) in the saved games folder. Then try loading from there and see what happens.

Wonderful. Iy worked. Thanks!

But re how stats were lost, let's account for the obvious -- that I erased all history for the wrong league (I am pretty sure this is not the case, but let's run with it).

Would that erase the stats in all the minor leagues associated with that parent league? Because those stats are gone also.

Plus, I have two parent organizations with minors. And all the stats from the other parent league + minors are gone.

I know I only once clicked on the option to erase all data. So even if it were a mistake on my part, why were data missing for everything?

Which button did you actually press?

If it was the 'erase the career stats from all players' button, that does exactly what it says it does, erases the stats of all players.

That is, all the players in the whole save game, not just those in one league.

Perhaps that should have a "WARNING" (say a pop up window) clarifying what "all" means, because it is a global setting in a league settings page.
