Exporting to a disk
Hi everyone, is there a way to export an entire report from the player search list? I have a report I want to export of players but it's 35+ pages. Is there potentially a different place I should be trying to "write the report to a disk" from?

As far as I can tell, the only difference when you are looking at a long list and there is a Report button available, is that "Write report to disk" goes directly to your internet browser while "Open report" allows you to view the report in the game first before you "Open in External Browser." In the end, the result is exactly the same: the list is shown in a browser window which can then be saved as HTML or text, or even better, turned into a PDF file if you have a pdf-maker.
So, wherever you are in the game, if you see that Report button, you should be able to save what you are seeing. But that's the only way I know of saving a search list. There is no highlight rows and right-click, copy / CTRL+C capability.

Thanks for the quick reply. Here's my issue though. With my report being 35+ pages, when I click "write report to a disk" it only does it for that page. Is there a way to send all 35+ pages on the same report?

Maybe it's your browser, a setting? Because I just wrote all 659 players in my league to a list of 12 pages. I wrote the report to disk, it opened in my Firefox, and I "printed" it to PDF. I cannot attach the list here - the file size is too large - but here's a screen print to show you that it can be done:

Yeah, that seems to be exactly what I need. I want export it all so I can put it all in an excel file. Maybe if I change my default web browser to firefox I will get a better result.

That didn't work either.. Hmm... In game it says it's 35 pages but when I write report to a disk it just gives me the guy on the first page. Is there a setting you know of on my browser I should check? Also, what screen are you exporting from? I'm on the player search page.

I've had it work from the draft pool page but I can't get it to work from the player search page. Basically, I'm trying to send out a report of all my catchers in my universe so I can plug the data into excel.

Here's the page and the selection that I used to export my player list - Write report to disk. No, I know of no setting in the browser to limit the amount of screen or data to open in its window.

I think the issue is I am using a position view from that screen and selecting to include minor leaguers. Can you select position "catcher" and select to "include minor leaguers" and let me know what result you get?

156 guys qualified, list exported, three pages generated. It bugs me when I cannot help people and I can only tell them that they should be able to do something and not be able to explain why not.

Mine turns to pages for some reason on the top right corner. I have one last guess, I will let you know if it works.

Found it, maybe. Check this setting. Do you have yours set to Page Selectors? If so, change it to Scroll Bars.

Yeah, that's what it is, all right. I don't even need to wait for your answer. You have your display showing (and writing the report) one page at a time. Change your setting to Scroll Bars and your display will show (and write to report) the entire list.
Thank me very much!

Unfortunately, that wasn't the fix, it was already at scroll bars. It only goes to the pages when I include minor league players. Someone from my league thought that might be it as well but it didn't work. Very frustrating! Haha.

Is there a setting that would make it go to pages for some reason?

Quote:
Scrollbars versus page selectors That would explain why, even though your preference is set for scroll bars, you are showing page view in your screen print above. Now, if that's not it, I give up!

Rowrrrr!
![]() No, that's not it. They must have improved that in a recent version. I just pulled up a list of 1,912 current, retired, and minor league players. It took a while, but I was able to create a 33-page report showing all of them. That's all, I'm done. I got nothin'. Sorry, dude.
