Trading question.
Hi all!,
So, both my friend and I picked this up, and are doing a little head to head franchise by taking the current Mariners and seeing who builds the better franchise going forward. We left settings basically on default, supposed to have trade settings on hard and neutral. For me, its been extremely difficult to make trades for major league / AAA talent, especially since the Mariners farm system is weak. ALl the talent I have acquired took extensive wheeling and dealing, and I felt like I was doing a pretty good job of landing talent at the lowest possible cost. Most of my talent, however, has had to be lower levels, not ML ready. Now my friend claims he not only has retained nearly all of the talent while also acquiring mutliple top prospects that are AAA level, some how he has acquired ML ready talent as well, while not even trading all of the mariners quality prospects. My question: Is there some known exploit / AI abuse he may be using..? Just purely BS'ing me? Or am I some how just completely incapable of making the same trades? He is being an ass and refusing to even share a single trade he supposedly made, not that I want to copy but I am curious just what the hell I may be doing wrong. I tend to try to target players that teams have an abundance of, and offer players they are light on, etc.. its not like I am going about things all wrong, but its quite frustrating hearing him talk about all these prospects. I mean, if he some how is just way way better than me at making trades, then thats life its just a game, but what he is describing just doesn't seem possible without exploiting or lowering difficulties. Thanks for any replies in advance, lol |

We'd have to see his game and the trades he made and know if he'd changed settings etc. He could easily have just changed the trading settings or something. If he's not willing to share that, there's no real way to know.
What you're describing seems like how the experience should work on hard/neutral with the Mariners. So I seriously doubt you're doing anything wrong. That he won't share any of what he's done with you makes me think he's just trying to get under your skin and hasn't really been able to do what he's claiming or if he has, it's been because he's changed the settings you agreed to.

I appreciate the (swift) reply! I kinda figured, but I thought I would ask out of curiosity. Hopefully he is actually sticking to the rules at least and not being lame and adjusting settings when its convenient. I am really enjoying the challenge of the game thus far! The game is incredibly detailed and well done.
Funnily enough, when I first told him about it, he mocked me for playing "basically a text game", but now he wont stop playing it, either ![]() I will say, itd be pretty neat to have a built in head to head franchise mode of sorts, that was basically turn based --each player has to finish the day to advance forward, while controlling different teams. I imagine something along those lines is a LOT of extra work though, and likely not worth the effort. Anyway, thanks again. |
