The 3D ballpark, and improvements to the Broadcast View, are also immersive for me. I took a look last night and for the first time ever, felt very little need to fiddle with the layout, either on-field (player positioning) and off-field (location of widgets). This makes me want to play out more games. Well done!

I may get so immersed in this version that you will not see me appear in these forums for months! (Believe that? Yeah, right. )

Quick question which I think doesn't deserve it's own topic.

Is the revamped playoff system available in the association feature or limited to the league playoffs?

I don't see where the option is to pick manager of the year.
Also, what does the mass-adjust financial figures actually do?

Didn't see anyone mention the slight change to award icons so they fit much better for superstars that collect many of them.

I like the new grouping of multiple awards together. It looks better, and is easier to quickly see when a guy has won a whole bunch of MVPs.

One other thing I am pretty sure is new this year...you can add your own injury.

I see grouping and a bit of overlapping, as necessary. Good.

Pretty sure a shorter suspension for hitters then pitchers for brawls in certain situations is new too...I like this.

Yea, if you didn't know they track the players numbers now in the "History" tab

(This may have been in 17 idk first time I noticed it)

No, I'm pretty sure it's new in 18 and, yes again, one of those small enhancements that accumulate immersion. No more guessing when retiring a player number whether that is the proper number to retire or just one that was acquired at the last stop of a long career.

How long has the game generated sons of former players? I just ran a fictional sim, and one of the best pitchers (Sam Herring Jr.) was the son of a mediocre former second baseman! (Sam Herring)

I think that's been around for a few versions now but is yet again something that lends to immersion. Same thing with players becoming coaches and having their ball playing history become part of their coach profiles.

A tiny but very useful addition is the ability for the AI to set the initial defence, while still allowing the user to make changes. No more throwing the ball over the 1b head because I forgot to play corners in during an obvious bunt situation.
