way to limit when players can be purchased from an independent league team?

Similar to the International Free Agent signing period, is there a way to limit when players can be purchased from Independent league teams? like set a signing period (during that league's off season or something)?

sorry. It's a bummer on the other side as well when managing an international team and your star player suddenly just disappears and you don't even get an email and you track him down and he's playing in AAA in the majors lol. hey your sig might need some updating.

No clue if this will work... Could you go the League Setup > Finance panel for the independent league and set the price for selling players to other leagues at some outrageously high - and therefore prohibitive - amount? And do this for only, say, April through September (if, as an example, that's the time of the year where you don't players to be purchased)?

hey that might work! If you don't have enough money the game doesn't let you purchase a player so I hope that same rule applies to the AI GMs if you set the purchase price at 1 billion. Except for the whole manual thing that might do the trick.

Or maybe you could just toggle on & off "Allow players to be purchased by other leagues." Or something like that... I don't have the game in front of me right now so I'm not sure... (Unfortunately, "frowned upon" is what OOTP at work would be.)

What if you disable purchasing and enable the posting system instead?

It drives me crazy when I have to manually edit about everyday when a slew of 3-5 indpendent guys get purchased in April when they havent even played a game. They had opportunities to sign them the whole offseason, they sign with an independent team, and immediately get purchased for 250k. Makes no financial sense. Oh well. That's why options are nice to have
