Most Popular Player Award - For Most Popular Player, customize Popularity Info view by adding Personality ratings and JAWS. Select All Players and filter by league. Extremely Popular player with highest JAWS wins. (Sort by JAWS and select first three Extremely Popular players on the list.)

The FedEx Stolen Base Award. I have used it also for the Clutch Award that goes to the player with the highest WPA.

- Unluckiest Pitcher of the Year: Pitcher with the best FIP but highest ERA

Hitting Pitcher of the year? isn't that already covered by the silver slugger award (which has a slot for pitchers)?

Yeah but I usually opt to turn off the Silver Slugger Awards if I'm doing the Hitting POTY Award.

I have never tried the 'Custom Award' but I wonder if the People's Choice Award would work, and it would go the the player with the most All-Star votes.

Custom Award

It's something the Red Sox do, seemingly sporadically. Essentially, it's an award for a guy who overachieved during the season but wasn't a thought of as necessarily a star or even a starter at the beginning of the season. Think Sandy Leon for last year's Red Sox.

What's yours?
NONE....A lot scream about somethings not being realistic with OOTPB, but might be the ones to actually changing things around. LOL. I just keep things as realistic as a script written awesome baseball game that already is pretty realistic. Just saying. Just me being me.

That's what's so damn appealing about this game. You spend the money on it. And YOU can play it with any rules, additions, subtractions or any thing you want to do with it & in your mind will be the most realistic game you know. Not a better download on the internet including any & all bugs that arise that come with it, because sooner or later it will be dealt with.

I really like this one. If there was a second custom award, this is one I would definitely do.

I go with Comeback Player of The Year. I scroll through players over a WAR of 3 for hitters and 2.5 for pitchers and drag the ones who had a noticeable uptick in games/production from the year before.

I always, always have a most stolen bases award, and usually name it after Rickey Henderson or Lou Brock, if I'm playing a modern game.

Hmmm...both the award and the extra immersive effort required are enviable.

I never had one, but if I used one it would have to be something objective (which many listed in this thread are).

I don't really want to "choose" an award winner. The award only means something to me if the computer, or at least some objective standard, determines the winner.

I do vote on all star teams, but that's because I can merely influence them without completely selecting them.

I'm pretty sure that's impossible. It would have to have a way for the user to enter the criteria (so the system would know what the award was for, or it couldn't select one).

That would be kind of nice, although I'd consider it a low priority. I imagine it would be hard to program, too. But if they had infinite time, it would be cool to be able to enter criteria for a custom award that the computer would then choose. There are many other things that wouldn't be as difficult that I'd prioritize way ahead of that, though.

Thanks. I like the way it rewards players who have been popular over time due to consistent excellence. Then they enjoy a period of continued popularity and reverence in the twilight of their careers, like Aaron and Mays. Not everybody wins it year after year, but when they do, they certainly deserve it.
