Once again I find myself using the dark skin even though I much prefer the OOTP18 default skin. I love the default skin this year, but once again the play by play box displays white with black letters. Once again, it does so by going from black to white. Therefore, every single play goes from dark to bright. It almost has a strobe light effect when playing games. The dark skin once displays with a dark background and white letters. So much easier on the eyes.

I've always wondered why OOTP doesn't give us options for the play by play display like other games.

Oh and please don't tell me I can going to my game files and change the code or something to change this myself. Not going to happen. The minute I do something like that I will end up here asking why my game doesn't have any players or why all my players are named OPRAH.

No big deal as the dark skin is fine, just prefer the default.

I like, and use, all 3. Dark skin through the day when there's lots of natural light, classic early evening and then default OOTP once it's real dark and I have to use artificial light.

After much goo goo ga ga'ing on the classic skin, I'm back to the default.. I don't really notice the pbp box messing with my eyes.. but I do see what you mean.

I wish the pbp box had a constant dark background regardless of skin. This issue is precisely why I chose the dark skin in 16 and 17. However, I have resisted so far in 18 because I am not playing out games in my primary league. However, when I do manage games in my other league, it annoys me.

David, have you considered switching to the dark skin right before you play the game and then back when it is over?

I have no life and I play fast for extended periods. Like today, nothing to do, so I will probably weather permitting sit in from of my computer playing OOTP for 6+ hours. Switching back and forth would get old pretty fast.

I think even if the default didn't use the dark pbp background it should at least use a less bright color than white. A few versions back I tried Questdogs antique skin. It didn't use the dark background, but it didn't use a bright white background either and it was easy on the eyes.

I envy you having no life. I wish I had no life. It is raining here in northern Italy too. But I am on an early morning train going to work. What I want to do is stay in bed with my laptop computer playing OOTP for 6 hours. Rats.
