Roster update

I see the 18.3.40 post and the team taking a well deserved break. Does that mean the rosters with 18.3.40 are the final opening day rosters and I can get rolling with the current season?

I just checked the “Opening Day Roster Tracker 2017” on MLB trade rumors. It seems a number of the rosters were set as of 3/31 according to the “Tracker”, and I count 15 teams that are not 100%, but that’s mostly the usual bullpen and bench slot stuff (everything else is set). To that, there are only about 7 teams that have a position (one 1B, and one 3B, and three LF) or a rotation question (the White Sox with 1 rotation spot and the Padres with 2 rotation spots).

I'm not sure if the "Tracker" is 100% accurate, but my take is that yes, seems to be set and all the important parts are there.

As the patch was out today, and a lot of this was known over the past week, my guess is that they were making minor adjustments to the rosters as they addressed other issues, right up until the last moment, so I think you are good to go.

Not The latest Transactions

I don't think this patch is the one for opening day. Major League teams still have time to reduce players to get to 25 man limits for opening day. Players like Rich Rollins were released on Friday and transactions not reflected in this patch.

Anyways, yes can OOTP provide us info on when the opening day patch will be ready so that we can start our leagues with latest roster moves and contracts ? We are anxious in OOTP land!!!!

Right, good point Strze.

I didn't know about Rich Rollins for example.

I can’t recall off-hand, but when does OOTPD usually release a patch (along with other fixes) at the start of the season per the opening day rosters? Is it normally around the end of the first week of the MLB schedule?

I hope we can get an answer on this as I've been waiting to purchase, but want the final roster updates before I do.

That shouldn't hold you up. I use the pre final days to mess around with new features and such. The roster update is released in a patch. You load that and start a new game when everything is ready.

The rosters are final as of yesterday. We used the projected rosters which should be 99% correct for Opening Day. So yes, you can go ahead and start playing, there won't be another update in the next couple of weeks.

It's Jimmy Rollins. Not always going to get it to Opening Day.

As Markus mentions, they're not 100% accurate since they were based on projected rosters (and since the ai sometimes has a different idea of how many players to carry at each position) but they should be very close.

We'll get them polished up a bit more for next update, once we see the real OD rosters and can work off those, but they should be good to use for now, they're in great shape overall!

Can't wait to manage the Padres and the three Rule 5 picks they decided to keep.

I don't think I was able to get them to actually stick on the Padres, would've taken some major ratings gymnastics to do so.

You'll find them in the Padres minors though.

Roster updates

Quite a few teams are off. As far as White Sox go there are 6-7 players off on roster. But.....I'll move them myself to be correct. We going to suck real real real bad....Pitching staff is second worst next to San Diego. Shouldn't be to hard to lose 90-100 games with them. Finally get to build them instead of having the same POOP out there every year. REBUILD!!!

6-7 off for the White Sox, are you sure?

http://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-chicago-white-sox/

http://m.mlb.com/cws/roster

and compare those to OOTP.

I really don't think 6-7 spots are off.

Lopez/May (which is a position issue as I mentioned might be the case), Narvaez/Liriano and whether Tilson is on the DL or not are the major differences I can see. That's not 6-7 though. It's maybe 3 positions that are off and for reasonable reasons.
