2017 Fantasy Draft
This may have been asked and I apologize if it has. I am looking to do a season with real MLB Team and MLB Players (Only) but draft the players from scratch.
I started a new custom game then create fictional league with an inaugural draft but when I start the draft all I get is a bunch of players I never heard of. How do I get just current MLB players in the draft pool? Thanks for your help, Vegas83 |

Note: better make some popcorn cause it is a 270 round draft ![]() also if you want to start a few years back just create an Historical league of any year

Thank you so much for the quick tutorial,
There are still 11,000 players available, how can I use just MLB players no minor league players? Can I reduce the amount of rounds? Thanks, Vegas83 |

your best bet for that without going through alot of complicated stuff is to just create a Historical league in 2016, tell it not to use historical minors , do not check any of the minor league boxes when setting up and all teams will start with their 2016 ML roster and a reserve roster with 20ish players on it reducing the draft pool down to just over 1,300 players and a default inaugural draft of 27 rounds. The your first draft will be 2017 rookie class.
The process for releasing players into a fantasy draft from my previous post is the same

I think he wants to keep the current minor leagues as is, and then do a 25 round draft where only the major leaguers are eligible. Then, you would have today's major league players on new teams, but the existing minor league rosters as is.
I don't know of an easy way to do that. I think you would be stuck with either a huge draft, including minor leagues or starting up in some way so that all you are left with is 25 players in your system. |

the the easiest way of the hardest ways is probably to start a standard game, go to each team home screen, make sure it is set to all players and active roster and release all the players. Then after releasing all players schedule a free agent draft, then assign new fictional financials to teams via game /game settings / league settings / financial functions (Reason for this is all teams will have player expenses well into the future because of releasing players) then set the FA draft to 25 players to fill active rosters
