Questdog's Names and Your Longtime League

As you may know, Questdog's Modern Names Mod is not a mod anymore and is now the official name list of OOTP, beginning with OOTP 17. What you may not know is that if your league was created in OOTP 16 or earlier, you are not getting the benefit of this upgraded feature unless you re-import the names from the Database tab in league setup (the Database Tools drop down menu in the upper right).

Doing this will not change the names of any players already created in your league, but they will soon be jealous of the names of all the new players.....

Thank you very much for this. I used to make lists of names when I thought of them to be used to change the bad or goofy ones that came up each draft. First draft using your database I had to throw my list away!

Awesome! I was actually looking for this mod the other day. Glad to know it's integrated in he game.

Has something changed with '18 in regards to player names? Last year's version seemed to be great with player names, but this year doesn't seem to be matching up with your names Questdog?

I created a fictional league with standard "Default Player Origin" settings. Allot of these names don't seem to make sense based on their nationality.

Here's just 1 team as an example:

Charlton Hyuk-kwon & Beau Chen, Huai-Shan & Chapman Basirico - American

Rutland Haines & Johannes Hoffses & Moe Gilhousen - Dominican

Robbie Henaghan - Venezuelan

The USA is set up so that you have a small chance of getting a name from any set and Venezuela, for some reason, has Italian and Portuguese names that can be generated (2 sets I did not edit) along with Hispanic names, but the Dominican Republic should only be generating Hispanic names and none of those names you listed are in the Hispanic set. Heneghan is only in the US and British sets, so that should not come up in Venezuela.

I just created a fictional league with the newest beta build (#36) and everything looks fine. None of the behavior you have seen is evident.
