Corruption Scandal Rocks the Federal League
Scandal rocked the Federal Baseball League today as police arrested thirty players, three managers and four officials. Police report that they have been tracking corruption in the Federal Baseball league for over twelve months through an undercover operation.
At the heart of the scandal is the network developed by Ergiers Walenalle known as “The Palm” Walenalle is a known associate of organised crime boss Stoure Zaelere of the infamous Zaelere family of Erme. Zaelere and Walenalle have also been arrested on charges of tax fraud, illegal book-keeping and money laundering. The police statement claims that Zaelere has been using the recent Federal League champions the Erme Racers as his own money laundering scheme he has also been funding the movement of players into the league. Walenalle has been the middle man developing a network of players, managers and officials who will, in exchange for money, affect the outcome of the game by performing badly, making substitutions at key times or in the case of officials making calls that favour outcomes desired by Zaelere and his firm of illegal book-keepers. The scandal has affected every team in the Federal League and all have had players arrested and suspended pending further investigation. The list of arrested players is an illustrious list of some of the best players of Federal League baseball and includes champions, record holders and award winners. The list of arrested players includes star pitcher, three time champion and Pitcher of the Year Suviere Oudre of the Barons, four time Platinum Stick winner Gois Vocque of the Duripant Pines, The Pines ace pitcher Arorin Descenalle, four time Federal League champion Volk Vloure who recently signed a contract with the Botane Metros, outstanding hitter Kunkkainen Unti of the Warhawks, four time Golden Glove winner Autrou Bene of the Balle Millers and many more. If the allegations are proven to be true than it is unknown what will happen to the players or the League. |

I have planning it for a while. I did not want to get too attached to players because I was going to shake things up however I did double guess myself a few times and I did include some players I did "like" because I wanted the whole thing to be a huge scandal....it has not finished yet there is more to come

Wow Duripant and Erme seem to be the big offenders team wise. Lots of good looking talent caught red handed as well. Thus will sure mix up the leagues and player pools in the near future!

Players per team
Yeah, the Racers and Pines were hit hard these are the break downs by teams:
Abenync Barons 4 Balle Millers 4 Duripant Pines 8 Couster Warhawks 3 Erme Racers 7 Renyn Arsenal 1 Botane Metros 1 Dodixie Nationals 1 Agrallarier Riverkings 1 I did want to have at least player from every team implicated and did want to have the Racers hit hard because it is the team most connected to Zaelere and the Pines because they finished in the top four in all seasons and made the playoffs twice it seemed to be a likely candidate to be connected to a corruption scandal. |

Scandal continued
The Gallente Federal Sports Commision (GFSC) have come to a decision in relation to the thirty players implicated in the Zaelere Scandal. In a historic decision to set a precedent of harsh reaction to corruption in professional sport they have passed an order that will take effect immediately all thirty players have been banned from playing professional baseball in Gallente they have secondly decided that the corruption in the Federal League was so rampant and struck at the very core of the league that they felt that it could no longer operate without casting a very negative image on Gallente Baseball. They have revoked the Federal League’s licence to hold professional sports games in Gallente and the Federal League was cease operations immediately.
They GFSC’s decision has been meet with support and also criticism across the Gallente sports community. Pandon Affin the former pitcher for the Duripant Pines and one of the players banned has become an informal spokesman for the banned players. He realised the following statement “Many of the thirty players who have been implicated in these accusations are still pleading their innocence. The evidence presented does not implicate all thirty players beyond a shadow of a doubt and we continue to ask that the GFSC treat each player’s case separately and on its merits. The decisision by the GFSC is not only unjust for the players involved but also the supporters of the Federal League as they will no longer have any teams to support in their home towns it is also crippling to the Federal League players who were not implicated in the scandal who now have legally binding contracts terminated.” Aindou Yvorqort, centre fielder for the Botane Metros of the GPBL has pointed out that “The Federal League players who were not implicated are still able to sign contracts with the GPBL and indeed the GBA teams and I am sure many will and we welcome them. Concentrating the talented players into two leagues rather than three will also be better for Gallente Baseball in the long-term.” The majority of the teams in the Federal League were in the south of the Federation and the fans of Couster, Balle, Agrallarier and Abenync are in an uproar over the loss of their teams. There are still teams in Aunia, and Eglennaert in the south. Fans of the Erme Racers have still got the cross town Erme Emeralds to follow. The Duripant Pines fans were hit the hardest, they were previously the most northern of the team in all three leagues and the nearest team to support is now the Nausshie North Stars. |

Federal Free Agents
The scramble for Free agents from the Federal League was heated and the Oursulaert Diplomats came out hands down winners picking up two 5 star talents and a four star talent! The Diplomats picked up center fielder Elteroumie Aelst, catcher Bynactelle Bene and relief pitcher Adoutte Cololoisa. The Nationals also picked up some fantastic young talent in Remint Estisen and Seleque Achtan. Achtan batted .411/.461/.633 in 1893 as a 26 year old for the Couster Warhawks.
Both the Association and the League have also lengthened the schedule to 40 games per team (each team plays two four game series against each other team one at home and one away). Both leagues have also introduced playoffs in order to stimulate interest at the end of the season. Last edited by Kiwifan; 04-05-2017 at 03:34 AM. |
