Launch Question

Happy Launch Day everyone!

Happy user of OOTP 17 running on Windows, ready to get OOTP 18. I noticed Steam seems to be more prevalent in the ads for the game this year. Does this mean that the updates will be mostly supported on Steam? Or will the PC version be the go-to as it has for the recent past?

Maybe it won't even matter but... I just want to be sure I get the version that continues with the updates

As far as I know, both versions will be updated as usual. On Steam, updates are probably automatically turned on, so the game will try to patch as soon as one is released, but you can turn this off, if you are the type to wait and see if there are any bugs with the new patch. The standalone version will be updated and new installers will be posted on the forums and you will just install that on top of your current installation when you see fit.

For what it's worth, I was very resistant to Steam when testing began, but it won me over with, if nothing else, the ease with which updates were installed.
