Questions about the draft and also trades

First few questions are about the first-year player draft.

1. What does it mean when they're "demands" are "slot" or they want a $4 mil bonus? Is that paid immediately when I draft them?

2. What does it mean under "ability to sign" or "willingness to sign" where it says Very Hard or Impossible? Does that mean that even if I draft them, if it says Impossible, then they will refuse to sign for me and hold out until next year in the draft?

Now I have a quick question about trading during the regular season.

3. I am the GM of the Red Sox and was offered a trade by the Colorado Rockies to have them send me Nolan Arenado for Pablo Sandoval and a 5 star potential 20 year old SP prospect.

I accepted the deal mostly cause I love Arenado, and this fits under my "win now philosophy" and I'm pretty sure they accepted it, but I don't have the player yet. It still shows under "Pending" in the list. What is this waiting for?

#1- if they ask for slot it will be whatever the slot value is for that pick. The slot value drops by each pick. They are not paid immediately but are negotiated after the draft via the unsigned draft picks page. That would be for any player rounds 1-5 and anyone at impossible.

#2. very hard usually will have to offer there demand for them to sign and impossible would be above there asking price usually. If you do not sign them they go back in the draft for next season and you are compensated a pick 1 below where you picked i believe in rounds 1-3.

#3. If you completed the trade via the email it should have gone through. Could you please post a screen shot or two to see it to help further?

If you accepted the trade, then he probably is in your Waivers and DFA section. You have to place him on the active roster from DFA because he has a major league contract. If it was a prospect, then they just get put onto a minor league roster.

If you made the trade after the Trade Deadline (so in August or September), the players will need to clear waivers to be traded, and the trade won't go through for three days. If Arenado is in the trade, he won't clear waivers, so your trade is likely to be canceled if this is what happened.

'Impossible' guys in the draft are not literally impossible to sign, but some will demand such a big signing bonus that you probably won't want to sign them. Some will be more reasonable, but likely still expensive.
