Delay WPA Graph generation?

What does this mean, exactly? I am guessing that the game will not generate a WPA Graph until you view a box score for which you set it to create one. Yes?

If you do delay WPA Graph generation, why then does it "cause replays to be saved for the selected games"? This is according to the tip that pops up if you hover over the setting:

We build the wpa graph from the replays. The reason it's an option is that's it's slightly faster to just create and store the replay than to convert it to a wpa and store that.
