If you download the shoutcast sever program then with a broadband connection you can do live broadcasts from your computer using your mic.

The sounds that are native to OOTP sync real well and it does give it a radio type feel.

Besides the peace of mind it would give owners to watch the simulations themselves as they happen, it would make for awesome live simming during the playoffs. Is something like this feasable to setup or too consuming to be worth it, or even possible at all?
It would be great if somebody came up with something similar to Webex. With Webex, multiple people can see your PCs desktop from a standard web browser. We use it for doing product demos, but its too costly (at this time) for "fun" use.

Not a bad idea at all, sure beats typing and hearing the crack of the bat rather than someone type in home run. Maybe could even parlay it into an announcing career. Someone in my town got a job announcing for the local minor league hockey team by sending in a demo of him announcing a playstation hockey game. They thought he was announcing an actual Blackhawks game, were impressed, and he got the job.

That's what a feared. You would think it would be cheapish and simple with the ease of use of webcams, it seems like a similar scenario other than not using a lens and just having a program discect and feed out your monitor output. Why do things always have to be so much difficult or more expensive than you think they should be.

Some league does this via Yahoo! chat... it might be FOBL... but I don't know...

Frankly, this particular owner's whining is one of the reasons I'm dropping out of the league at the end of the season. Certainly not the only reason, however a significant factor. My feeling is either you trust the guy or you don't...there's no middle ground.

I've yet to see a league where the commissioner doesn't do well. The commissioner is probably more familiar with all the players in the league than any other owner because of the amount of time he spends on the league. So, he's probably going to make better trades and draft better than the average owner. That's life, I accept it. It makes things more challenging.

FBBL is a good league, I just am no longer willing to make the time committment it takes to manage a team there, and no longer willing to put up with the sniping between a select group of owners. I just want a fun league.

<<--Note...this has nothing to do with my post, I just think its amusing.

I'm not sure what the debate is here.

You've asked him for proof, none has come forth. It sounds like the other owners are on your side. The longer this crack pot talks though the more chance that will go away.

He's had his chance, now he's a cancer, drop him.

In the LBA we sim playoffs and many of the regular season sims live over Yahoo chat. Of course the commish(es) could have simmed it earlier and are just *pretending* it is live as they give us scores and updates but we have complete faith in them. Also the fact that sometimes people are allowed to make changes or subs and the commish(es) are able to respond to them sort of verifies it.

In the PABF we sim playoffs over our browser chat (no idea what this is exactly but it is on the website) much the same way.

I got a little caught up in the soap opera effect and went back and looked at any post this "fruitcake" has started and shook my head the whole way. Since mid April of about 10 or more threads started at least 80% of them were whining about wheres the file? Wah Wah, blib blibbity blah blah downgraded, feel so sorry for me, why do I even bother playing? Thanks alot Phil. Im not even part of the league and he started to get me a little fired up if you can't tell.

Two of the worst rolled into one. A grown man that whines like a child, and not only that, about something as trivial as talent developments? Then to top it all off he expects better service from you that most people expect from a 5 star hotel. I think you made the right call, it has to stop, with no refund of any of the fees he pays to be in the league or help maintain it. Oh wait, he hasn't paid any.

I wouldn't worry about this infestation spreading, but I just don't see how you could enjoy putting as much as you do into a league for someone so obviously unappreciative.

Well...some of the sims have been way behind schedule. :-p

And off-season DOES take forever.

But I have a choice in how to deal with those things, and my choice is to find a different league.

Wise words. Like I said, Im not part of the league nor familiar with it's history or procedures. The guy just seems to me like he crossed the line into the mode where he just can't wait for next thing to start a drama over and loves playing the victim.

I believe I laid out when you joined josh, that sex or baseball would delay sims. The offseason is a valid beef though.

Regardless, thanks to all of you for your opinions.

What's the old saying " Your only as good as your weakest link", Well that should hold true here, You cannot have someone questioning your integrity, It's bad for you and the league. Yes, He may be an active owner, But at what cost.....Your integrity..?

No, I would end it now and explain to him the reason why he is being let go, Since he has been talked to about this. But be prepared, I would suspect he will go on a major tirade tearing you and your league apart for what he thinks is going on, For it sounds he is immature and not in control of his emotion's.

To combat this I would talk to him and then make a post in the forum explaining that he was let go for action's detrimental to the league without going to much in detail ( I don't think that needs to be said at this point ), If he goes into a tirade and start's making post's about you cheating, Only then would I make public the detail's of his action's
