OOTP18 Pros & Cons (so far)

Pros:

Excellent graphics
The FaceGens look better than ever
LOVE the addition of the World Baseball Classic aka "World Cup Of Baseball" & Negro Leagues
The overall layout keeps getting better
The moving crowds
The return of the music especially "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"
The updated rosters look pretty darn close to being 100% accurate
Overall, if I had to give it a grade, I'd give it 5 stars out of 5

Cons:

Sim speed is slow although that could be my laptop
No FaceGens for most coaches and managers
Still seeing deceased former MLB managers & players popping up as staff to hire. Example: Bob Forsch is listed as a pitching coach. This is just me, but I just find it a bit morbid & would rather see Forsch "retired". It would be like Jose Fernandez coming back as a pitching coach. As wonderful as that would be to have him come back, I just don't think it is necessary, but that's just me.

True but if you are playing a historical league with players retiring as they did in real life, it would make sense to apply that to coaches and managers as well. It doesnt make sense to have say Lou Gehrig retire in 1939 but come back as a coach in 1953.

We'll get the facegens for managers in there soon, I totally forgot about them! It's an oversight that they aren't included

Coaches, like most MiLB players, we can't include their faces since we don't have a license that covers them.

Why not? Once the first day is simmed, the league no longer mirrors real life. Maybe people want Gehrig to live on and become a coach in their replay.

Then why use historical transactions and retire according to history?
I was talking about a more strict historic career play and not a more what if historic type career.
Your logic makes sense if you are allowing Ruth to stay with the Red Sox but not as much if you are using historical transactions. It would be like using historical transactions and finding Shoeless Joe played till 1927.

One con is that some teams, like the Nashville Sounds who changed their logos a few years ago, still have old logos that are several years outdated. San Antonio Missions and Frisco Rough Riders are another one. Other teams who updated logos appear fine in the game but these same teams haven't been updated for many versions.

Ok, so we looked into this and it appears the old logos are no longer included with the game and the new logos are correct.

However, if you've copied over your old logos folder from past versions of the game, or if you're a beta tester and had installed early beta copies and never done a full delete and reinstall, then the old logos might still be present in the folder and blocking the new logos from showing up.

So if this is an issue for you, please delete your logos folder and reinstall the game, or delete the old logos from the logos folder, and things should look better!

Odd because I didn't do either of those things. I don't have an old version in the logo folder either. I will try a redownload though.

Hmm, that's very odd then, not sure quite what to say in that case...

Can you try deleting your logos, ballcaps and jerseys folders and then reinstalling the game and see if that helps?

Bad Lukas. Bad! [Wrist slap.]

Your punishment is having to patiently answer all sorts of questions in these forums. However, your sentence is hereby commuted to time served.

even I had to re-install the new logos, jerseys and caps for the Missions, Sounds, Rough Riders.
But the new logos for the Redbirds, Spinners, and other teams are already in there.

Will the facegens automatically load once they're updated? If we play with fictional facegens, will they be replaced when they're updated?

Thanks!

Uh, yes and no I think (you'll have to manually re load the faces to replace the fictional ones)!
