Bought Season Ticket Baseball and thought that was the most perfect baseball game made. Have waited every year since like a kid at Christmas waiting on the day it gets released to see what new goodies await all of us. It is hard to believe how far this game has come and what may come in the future.

I've been playing since I was 12, so no breaks given just welcome to the club and 16-17 were by far my favorite AI so you have come around at a great time.

I played for the first time when I was in high school so... probably about 2005. I had OOTP and Mogul and they were pretty competitive back then. I stopped for the most part in college and then picked it back up in 2012. I've bought every year since then.

I resisted OOTP for many years because I was afraid it would swallow up my time. Finally got OOTP 15, and it did.

I started with APBA in 1965, but the best dice and paper game I ever played was a little bare bones affair called Extra Innings baseball in the seventies — they gave you the formula to create your own players from official stats in that one.

In the eighties, I learned the basics of programming in Pascal by trying to create my own game. It only had two teams, the '61 Yankees and an early Mariners team, but it worked. I had many plans to expand it, but I had to give up when APBA came out with its computer game and it was so much better than mine. A few years later, though, I created another game in Excel, which also only had two teams. (I did that one at work.)

(This message ran long because I'm waiting for the email !!!)

OOTP 2. I've pre-ordered every version since.

Same here. Can't recall exactly but was around 1998-2000. FPS Baseball 98 was the game of choice up until then.

The first version I played was when OOTP was also released in retail stores as Season Ticket Baseball 2003. I don't remember what version of OOTP it was. It was the EXACT same game, just rebranded as Season Ticket Baseball. I converted to just OOTP the following year, and I've owned every version between now and then. Will be downloading 18 as soon as I get home in an hour or so!

OG baby! How many here remember the old boards? Hard to believe that I've been playing this game for close to twenty years?!

7 or 8, I don't quite remember. I played Mogul for 2-3 years before I even heard of OOTP. Once I found it, I haven't left.

Now with the 3D. That was all that was left to forever beat Mogul....which I don't think Clay is even spending any time on anymore.

I bought the last version just to see if it was any different. Albert Pujols in a historical sim hit 1800 HR, non-edited and carried a .800 OBP.

So yeah.......And it was the same game from like 10 years ago.

OOTP is way more comprehensive, and continuously improved. I count down the days ever March. I have bought every version since 8 for sure.

I want to say 8 was the first one I spent a lot of time on. If I got 7, I didn't play it as much as 8. I think I played either 10 or 12 the most of any of them. I can't remember. I didn't get much time to play last years, hoping to change that this year.

OOTPX. Spent the entire development cycle starting games and stopping them and figuring out what all the settings did in historical games. Boring I know, but it sure helped out in the end. Setting up games is a breeze now, and I know exactly what I want from the settings.

EDIT: Hat tip to my fellow Mogul exile Jeffy25. Hope things are going well for you down in Missouri (Cape Girardeau IIRC - unless of course you've moved since the Mogul days).
