This is because the player is deemed unqualified at those positions (17 did this as well). The ratings are currently deflated which would probably explain why the player was not in 17. I assume the rating deflation is a bug.

How is he unqualified at these positions? I NEVER saw this on 17 or any other version. And believe me, I change player rating ALL the time.

This is from OOTP17. If your arm is too bad, range is too low, DP rating is too low it disqualifies you from gaining a resulting rating at a given position. 1B is the only IF position that requires no qualification.

And like I said at the moment ratings are incorrectly deflated in 18 which probably makes some of those guys rated too low to qualify at their positions. Try bumping all of those infield ratings up by 10 and see if it shows a position rating. Or it is possible they changed 18 to have a more strict qualifier to be able to play a given position.

Is there a resolution to this? I have a second baseman that has played the position for 12 seasons in '17. Imported to 18 and can't get a position rating for him anywhere. Even tried giving him a 250 at all defensive rating and still nothing. I can't really keep playing my season if my starting second baseman can't play second or for that matter anywhere.

I mentioned this in another thread, but this is because the guys are left handed throwers, you need to either change them to throw righty or use them at the sort of positions lefties actually play, since even in in the lower levels of the sport, college and HS, lefties just don't play the if positions other than 1b.
